MIL put DS back in a nappy today

& I am a bit annoyed about it. I have been attempting to toilet train him since Feb & he has not taken to it as well as DS1 did, in that he still has needs to be constanly reminded & has quite a few accidents. He is also not great with his poos & will hold them in until he gets his night pull up on, or sometimes have accidents in his pants.
He was 3 in March & he does seem to be getting better at telling you when he needs to go, although if he gets indulged in something, you do need to remind him.
I work every day & he is split between nursery, my Mum & my MIL while I am working.
Today was MIL's turn to take care of him & when I returned home from work she announced that she had put him back in a nappy because he had a couple of accidents.Angry
I know it can be frustrating when he has accidents, but I am working so hard at trying to tackle this & feel that putting him back in a nappy will put him right back.
I don't want to make a fuss, as I know I am lucky that MIl looks after him, but I feel a bit peeved that she has bunged him back in a nappy.
I don't want to upset MIl & seem like I am not grateful for her taking care of him & I am aware that constant accidents can be draining, but I really don't want him put right back just as we are starting to see improvements.
How can I get the message across without it seeming like I am getting at her?

\link{http://www.ukshopability.co.uk/acatalog/Shiloh_Catalogue_Sahara__For_Kids_47.html\here we go this is what we sent ds1 to school in}. They work pretty well- far better than any trainers and they can feel the wet etc. Although the eenies pants will be even more waterproof.

Jimjams - they're great pants! Ds was in cloth and I would rather he still was tbh. He's a big lad and i hadn't found any washable training pants that would fit above age 4 - they look ideal. How much do they hold? A full wee or just a didn't-quite-make it-in-time?

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 03/05/2006 23:41

They get damp- but not wet (like most trainers). I think the lollipop eenies with pad would hold a full wee but are much bulkier, the Shiloh ones do look like normal pants.

when I say not wet I mean it doesn't just pour through, there is containment of the wee, so no puddle, but dampness/sogginess - yes.

that last message sounds weird :) Like I have a poker up my backside :o I'm tired, I'm off to bed!!

Those pants look great, jimjams! What a great idea!
Had already retired to bed by the time you posted the link last night!
It is so hard to have tried to make a start on this training & then had to return to work & leave it all to others. Maybe I should have just waited until my summer holidays when I will have more time, rather than panic about the fact I needed to make a start before he reached the age of 3! (Think I am being brainwashed by my mother here!)
He does often ask for the toilet, but often he asks when it is just a bit too late & doesn't get there in time!
Those pants look ideal - I think I will definitely order some. Thanks.

I have just found out that Waitrose (or Ocado if you do your shopping on the internet like me) are going to be stocking pullups made by Naty from the start of November 2006.

Naty make the Nature Boy/Girl biodegradable, no nasty chemical nappies that are currently stocked by Waitrose/Ocado.

I love these as they are ecological and better for baby, as no chemicals, but have been struggling with the ever increasing wriggles at nappy change time.

If you want to use these I would recommend contating your local waitrose/ocado to ask if they are going to stock them, as otherwise they might not be in your local store.

Ocado are pretty good, if a few people ask for a product they do their best to add it to their product list.
