I started weaning my ds at four months old as he was showing signs of being ready. he was very good and enjoyed everything we gave him which was pureed. He is now six months old and I have recently started making his food more textured and thicker but he just isnt interested in it. He ends up putting his bib in his mouth after i have given him a spoonful of food, he then sucks his bib and the food ends up on his bib rather than being swallowed. He still enjoys his pureed foods though but i am getting anxious that he wont eat anything but.
I am worried i left him on pureed food for too long failing to introduce textures sooner. I dont think my HVs are brilliant at helping with weaning. They seem to have left us to it. I was focusing more on giving him different tastes to try so was working my way through the five steps in the cow and gate booklet.
Any reassurance and advice would be more than appreciated. I got really stressed at lunch time when he wouldnt eat his food I had made. He tried pureed chicken for the first time but didnt like that either. Probably because it was still quite textured.
