i only turned round to answer my ds and next thing i know shes on the floor, i know it only takes a second cant believe i was so stupid! She seems ok, talking, crawling, standing and playing ... but i cant work out for the lifeof me if her soft spot is hard or not shes got so much hair you cant really see and i cant tell by feeling it, should it be hard by now? Should i take her to doctors or a&e ?

aw, please try not to panic - they are so quick at doing these things, try not to give yourself a hard time, i think most of us have let something similar happen and lived to regret it.

if she is eating, drinking and seems as she usually is, she is probably ok, but i don't think any would be berated for taking a small child to be checked out if they were worried.

chances are she's fine, do you have anything like a rapid access centre nearby? maybe give them all call for advice?

They all do at some point. It's a rite of passage! Keep an eye on her and make sure you've read up on what to look out for. Chances are she's fine.

How did she land? My dd fell off but shuffling backwards so her bum hit the floor first. She was about 5 months. After that she was never allowed on the bed without someone having a hand on or near her!

10 month old DS2 fell off the sofa twice yesterday! The first time onto his face and the second onto his back. I don't even know how it happened, was changing his nappy ( can't do it on the floor at the moment as have sprained my knee) and he just rolled off. I had that slow motion moment where you know your going to be too slow to do anything, I settled him down and went back to the nappy and he did it again!
Babies are much more resiliant than we think, I would just keep an eye on her.

My DS has done this twice. I was mortified. He was fine, I wasn't.

she landed on her back, i just cant belive how stupid i was. it was on my ds bed with the bed guard, shes just moving far too quickly now!
The stupid thing is i was worried about taking her to hospital after i was there with ds 18months ago (1st time ive even seen a&e!) they made me feel like id hurt him Shock even had hv call apparently they always do it, but thats another story!

I'm sure she's fine, as others have said it's a rite of passage Grin I managed to bang 10 day old dd off the door frame in a sleep deprived stupor, she was fine I was a wreck!!Shock
