I really want a baby sling for my 2 week old ds.

Any recommendations?

Thank you

Definitely look out for a local sling meet. Where are you based?

I have a close caboo which is great for tiny ones.

It's a slightly stretchy wrapesque sling but easier to put on than a Kari me or Moby wrap both of which are also meant to be good but I found too complicated.. Now I've got the hang of the caboo it takes me just a few seconds to put DS in and he's really secure in it.

I also have an Ergo which feels much more supportive on the back (the Close one does start to make me ache after a while) but I don't like the newborn insert so won't use it until DS is a bit bigger.

Once I was shown how to tie it, I found my Kari-Me brilliant.

A moby wrap or a Caboo are great for tiny babies.

I have a Bondolino which is fantastic - it can be used from birth (although I used a stretchy at first) and will last through to toddler. It is easy to put on and is very supportive on the back. Look up the youtube video to get an ideal.
Manduca is another good make in my opinion.

I used a close. Agree with going along to your local slingmeet or ask at your children's centre, one of ours loans them out. If you are going along to your local nct group ask there too if anyone has one you can borrow. When I used to go along to our the mums were always loaning one another bits they didn't need anymore like wraps and bumbos Smile

I loved my wilkinet.

GlaikitFizzog · 15/02/2013 13:03

Moby here, loved it. Still use it sometimes in a hip carry and ds will be 2 next month. Takes some getting used to, wrapping a placing baby in, but once you get it you can do it with ghoulies closed!

Ghoulies closed?? Confused your eyes closed that was meant to be!

I had a Baby Bjorn but now I have a Rose & Rebellion (suitable from 3 months) which I can't recommend enough.

Bonners · 15/02/2013 22:37

Moby! Had a baby Bjorn style one and it killed my neck. the Moby was lovely and Bubs was more comfortable.

I use a moby and love it, as does 9 week old dd2. Wish I'd had one for dd1, I would have got so much more done.

I have a Moby, Ellaroo & smith-firm and recommend the Moby or Ellaroo for newborns. Grin

Moby. But I think most of the stretchy wraps are pretty much the same.
I think you definitely want a stretchy wrap. I think most of the above are brand names for different types of stretchy.

I really like my Kari-me - takes some practice but there are a number of different positions which is good. Now DD is older and a heavy chubber I'm thinking of getting something more structured that allows for back carrying.
