Constantly ill children :-(

Hi, just looking for some reassurance really.
My Dd (6) and Ds (3) seem to be constantly ill at the moment, with cough, colds, tonsillitis, ear infections etc etc. it's just one after the other, constantly for the last few mths. I'm exhausted and obviously getting concerned they'll never be well again!
Dd is in year 1 at school and since starting has tended to pick up most bugs and I'm guessing brings home to share (thanks!) she's had 3 lots of antibiotics since Nov.
Ds has just started preschool in Jan and again is getting everything going. He's just finished a course of antibiotics on Sunday was ok (ish) for a day but this morning woke with temp again and complaining of a sore throat!! ...it's half term and we haven't really been anywhere.
Naturally I'm worried, although my rational side is saying its just part and parcel of young children. But I can't remember when they were both well!!
Dd has had loads of time off school, I'm trying to juggle work (had to work this weekend as took a day off last week as both off school/preschool ill) my mum is a god send. But it's just so draining.
My dh works quite long hours and will help when he can but its just getting tough.
Is this normal?? To get ill again so soon after a course of meds?
Also concerned that they keep needing them, is it ok to have so often? Plus after a dose of penicillin in Nov it turns out Ds is allergic to that too, just to throw another thing in!
Sorry rambled on a bit.

Unfortunately it sounds completely normal to me.

Kids mixing with kids equals lots of germs etc and its a crap time of year. And if their immune system is a little weaker as they've been Ill they're more likely to get ill again iykwim.

Maybe have a bit of a health boost.
Get some daily vitamins for kids in.
Put some lovely fruit in the fruit bowl and encourage them to pick at it?
Get some fresh juices in instead of squash.
Lots of veg with their meals?

I know it probably sounds a bit patronising, but that's what I'd do.
Hope they're better soon.

Thanks, they love fruit juices which is good, dd will take a chewy vitamin but ds won't so might get some drops. Veg is hit and miss. But to be fair they're both off their food a lot at the mo to, which doesn't help.
I think when it's so continuous and I'm like a frequent flyer at the gp I'm getting concerned. I was up there 3 time in 2 days last week...they might just give me a room up there soon and I can camp out lol!!
I'm now starting to feel a bit run down myself, just looking forward to a bit of good weather and a light at the end of the snotty tunnel!

Just so you know you are not alone. Either DD, 2, or DS 7 months, or myself have been ill since beginning of December, it is relentless and depressing. Everyday my left shoulder is covered in snot from the baby, bless him. I never knew so much snot could come out of such small children. I am trying vitamins, healthy food and fresh air! Roll on spring.

I don't think its really the parents fault! I think its just part of being a child! Its always worse if there's siblings as they pass things to each other ! As we all know, there are plenty of germs out there. When a child is exposed to any germ, it may get around the body?s defenses and gain entry. One child?s germs can easily make the acquaintance of his playmate. Make sure that your day care has a strict policy about excluding children with contagious illnesses.

Health Improvement
