What should I do with a 19mo all day?

I have just quit my marketing job to take care of my 19 month full time. I went back to work full time 12 months ago but I am now back to being a full time parent and wondering what to do with him all day. When he was a small baby, we used to do baby massages, monkey music, etc. what?s there to do with a toddler out there?

Park, rhyme time at the library, music/gym classes, swimming.

Where are you...people may be able to recommend specific places / activities.

Get the Pinterest App too - its all photos but they are links to.blogs and websites with ideas and craft stuff and all sorts on. Very inspiring!

Check out the imagination tree website, playathomemom.com (something like that) plain vanilla mom on Facebook.

See how much season tickets to local activities are - sealife, farm/soft play type places. Try out soft play places - not all as awful as you might think and some are more reasonably priced than others.

Get into messy play at home! See the above links for ideas (and Pinterest as pp said), or, check out local sure start sessions for messy play with someone else doing the cleaning up :)

Park, random walks, potter in the garden (my 17mo current fav activity), reading, local library, play dates with other mummy friends, swimming (check out local private pool sessions and get a few of you together), local play groups and toddler groups.

And of course the paid activities like jo jingles, gymboree (recommend but ours recently closed :( ) any gym based activity, socatots, tumble tots.

And if all else fails, stick on peppa pig and have a breather

Park - every day!
Library
Coffee with friends
Play group
Walk to the shops
Swimming

You don't need to do that much ime as long as you get out for fresh air everyday.

Glad to be of some help. It's not all fun and games, don't get me wrong (ft sahm) for example today has been a peppa pig day already... But it's lovely spending time with them and seeing them grow up - and as pp said, ime you don't need to be doing activities all the time at this age, just get out in the fresh air (pref when it's not peeing it down though!) regularly and encourage lots of free play so you can have some space too...on mn of course Grin

Good luck, and enjoy
