yellow teeth in 2.5 year old

Hello, DD2 is 2.5 and has increasingly yellow teeth.
I'm pretty good with brushing, twice a day for 1-2 mins with an electric toothbrush, I pin her down and do it and have done since she was very small (she now lets me but this is new)......I've been stricter with her than with DD1 who got the odd night off if I couldn't handle the screams....
She has been on antibiotics for a month, 3 different course, for an ear infection (now cleared up) - could this have something to do with it?
Her teeth are really quite yellow, it's noticable, very unfair!
I don't see what else I could do re brushing.....anyone got any tips, does it go away on it's own? TIA, Jenny

It'll be the antibiotics. My DH had the same problem when he was a boy and it caused the same thing with his adult teeth. The colouring hasn't gone away - not sure why it causes staining in some children and not others Confused

My DD (7) has the same. Dentist told me it was something to do with all the antibiotics she had as a baby/toddler. I don't think it was the AB's staining the teeth, more to do with the immune system, but can't remember exactly what the dentist said. Unfortunately, my DD's adult teeth are a bit yellow too.

Oh no, so there's nothing I can do?

My DS fell over onto his 2 front teeth as a toddler and damaged the circulation to them. They went grey, then yellow, then faded almost back to white. He's 4 now and if I look closely I can still see a yellow tinge there. Quite standard I think as his dentist at the time warned me they'd go through those stages.

Obviously not the case with your DS, but I just wanted to let you know that in some instances yellowing can fade. Probably not much you can actually do sadly, just wait.

No, I was told there was nothing that could be done Sad It's such a shame as my DD has beautiful straight teeth that plenty of people comment on, but they will always be stained.
