Was in bed playing with ds 6 months and I was lying on my back and stood him up on my tummy, he threw himself forward and hit his head on my headboard and cut the side of his eye - I feel awful but he seems ok BAD MUMMY!!!!

Flamesparrow · 25/04/2006 11:50

Awww, I remember mine throwing herself of my lap, and me not being able to catch her in time... she cut her nose, and she had stopped crying about it before I had stopped my sobbing of "I made my baby bleed!!!" :)

mummygow · 25/04/2006 11:58

thank hb & fs this is his first accident and I forgot how awful you feel and the panick that sets in, I think I had to calm myself down more than I had to calm him Smile

My ds is only 10wks old and already dh has dropped him, dropped a plastic toy on his head and dropped his heavy car keys on his face Shock He is a bad daddy. Only joking, he is just very clumsy!

pablopatito · 25/04/2006 14:25

I have a small scar on my forehead from where my dad playfully threw me in the air in our lounge and I smashed my head against our glass chandeliers. I don't consider he was a bad dad though, so I'm sure your son won't hold it against you.

I tipped ds1 out of his buggy walking down a hill after failing to strap him in properly - I was still crying long after he stopped! There was no lasting damage!

happypiglet · 25/04/2006 17:52

when ds2 was 4 weeks old I shut the front door on ds1's fingers (he was on the outside of the door with his fingers in the hinge side)

I just thought- 'why does the door feel so springy' and shut it again before he had chance to howl. Luckily nothing broken.

I blamed sleepless nights!!

panicpants · 25/04/2006 18:01

I fell over carrying ds and threw (well dropped - must stop being so meladramatic!) him into the road (no traffic coming Thank God) panicked and sobbed all through the resulting visit to a&e and most of the next day too!

ritaskeeter · 25/04/2006 18:44

I tripped down stairs holing DD2 when she was 3 weeks old and banged her head off the wall. Then threw a total panic and phoned an ambulance Blushsobbing so much they could not make out what had happened, had DH driven home from work by his boss and DD1 crying too. Looking back, a total over reaction, felt really bad afterwards for wasting amblance men's time (they were great about it though) I'm still not good in an emergancy!

mummygow · 25/04/2006 19:48

lol - ypu have all made me feel much better, thanks!!
