Hi! Just got my 14 week old onto bottles and I need some suggestions for pattern/routine (I can't remember from our first!). I'm not wanting to go overboard and be strict with it but I just feel like I could do with some idea of when he's tired/ hungry as its all a bit random & unpredictable!
Tell me yours Grin x

Just bumping for you, can't really remember that far back Xmas Smile

No idea!

This is my DC2 and even though DC1 is only 3 years old I really can't recall what I did! This time I'm just going with the flow.

OP, are you asking more about general routine, or just to do with your DC's bottles and feeds?

If it's to do with bottles/feeds, then there's a Breast and Bottle Feeding section on MN, might get some good tips there :)

Hi, we have been following Gina Ford's routines, DD is 6m now.
At 4m our routine was:
07.00 wake up & 1st bottle
09.00 - 09.45 nap
11.00 2nd bottle
12.00 - 14.00 afternoon sleep
14.15 3rd bottle
15.30 - 16.00 nap
17.00 4th bottle (1st half)
18.00 bath
18.15 4th bottle (2nd half)
19.00 bed
22.30 5th bottle

Hope that helps Smile

Meant to say the DD was ff from the beginning which works with GF I think. Also, I've found that following a routine like that gets the baby to his/her nap before they get overtired, and fed before they get too hungry & upset. Just what I've found - DD is my first btw.

*Late when did you start this routine? And how much was your dc taking in a bottle?

My ds is 15 weeks old now and honestly we don't have much of a routine. Wakes up between 7-9, has his bottles when he wants, I no from how he's acting when he needs to sleep, and then I put him to bed after 8 most nights. We still have one night feed every night.

I can't get him to take a bottle until he wants one. I have the Philips app on my phone which tracks his bottles but he never goes the same amount of time between bottles. For example from his last bottle at night he usually goes 6-8 hours before another one. During the day is any time between 2.5-6 hours, and unless he is ready and wanting it I've no hope of him taking it.

I'm not too concerned about a routine yet, he's my first and I believe he will settle into his own routine eventually. However if not ill hopefully be able to mould it some what. :)

My dd2 is 20 weeks, and we have to fit in the school run so our days are mostly fitted in around that. It's something like this (on a 'good' day - it doesn't always go to plan Grin)

7:00 breastfeed
7:30 wash and dress (both of us)
8:00 a few spoonfuls of breakfast
9:00 nap in pram/car during school run
10:00 bf
12:30/1:00 a few spoonfuls of food; bf
1:00 nap
4:00 bf
5:30 food
6:30 bath, story
7:00 bf
8:00 bed
10:00 dreamfeed

The times in between would be playtime, or activities like swimming or rhymetime.

Thanks for all the replies. Just meant in terms of food/naps in general so all very helpful! Going to have a go at ginas nap times! X

Penguin we started the GF routines at the beginning of week 3, but I know people who started a lot later than that. DD slotted into it very easily, it must have been similar to her own natural daily cycle. I always feel the need to qualify my posts regarding Gina Ford by saying 'they're not for everyone' Grin
