Our 3rd DD is 10 months and will only sleep in our arms or on the couch at all naps and night time she then co-sleeps.

Shes never been a great sleeper and in 10 short months has had a few set backs, in hospital at 10 days for lumber puncture (horrific), acid reflux, colic ( both away now), asthma, toxic exema ( her asthma causes swelling), her 1st 6 teeth cut in 6 weeks. So weve had a lot to contend with but whenever shes placed in her cot she freaks out clawing at us to be lifted and crying untill shes in abad state.

Weve tried proper covers and pillow to make it more bed like, putting her down once asleep but nothing works and were needing some advice both other DD were great sleepers. Shes still waking constantly during the night despite co-sleeping

any tips or advice would be great.

gosh what a lot you and her have had to go through! you poor things - I suppose it's about starting at the beginning - gently getting her used to being in the cot - have you tried a co-sleeper like an Arms Reach ? I used one for the first 6 months it was great....could be the first step to her moving out of your bed?

I personally think co-sleeping sometimes makes sleep worse - it did with my DS after 6 months....we put him in his own cot, filled it with toys, sat there and sang to him, did pick up put down, did stroking him while he was in there and crying - so yes there was crying ...but it was not much and we had to change things....

We slept next to his cot for a couple of nights (taking it in turns..) so constantly soothing, comforting ....but he did sleep much better in a short time...

If you can afford it what about a sleep consultant - might be useful given you have had all the problems with sickness etc....a specific gentle approach.

no cry sleep solution worth a read..although the advice we followed was from the millpond sleep clinic...(an HV not actual sleep consultant)
