Breast Feeding

I have a 2 month old, and I have been exclusively breast feeding. One of my breasts is larger and feels like it is engorged again. It is sore, but not red. Maybe a little warmer than the other, but it doesn't seem feverish. This has happened twice now, and the last time it went away after a few days. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be mastitis? It is frustrating mostly because it is uncomfortable, but I can't say that I like being lopsided. Help!

When I had mastitis I felt flu-ey at first then quickly (a few hours) had a very high temp, shaky and couldn't get out of bed. No redness till over 24 hrs. I'd try expressing or feeding like mad, but I think you need antibiotics if it is mastitis. Hope it's not and you're ok.

There's a breastfeeding board on mumsnet elsewhere -always good replies there.

You could havea duct blocking up a bit in that breast, and your baby is managing to clear it before it turns into mastitis. Feel about for a hard lumpy area that feels more tender than the rest (although when I had a block deep in the breast the whole breast felt tender). Long feeds are the best for shifting them, warm showers on the breast, take an anti-inflamatory like ibuprofen, and keep warm .Feed on demand if you don't already. Mine were triggered by a bra that pressed too snugly against my breast and also a ring sling , so check that nothing you are wearing is pressing on your breast for to long. Hope it resolves!

I couldn't find the breast feeding board, I am new to mumsnet. How do I find it?
