Baby hates coats/ snowsuits, and winter is here

Does anyone else's sensitive babies really hate coats/ pram-suits?

DS is 10 weeks. He's always hated them. iHe goes mad, its the arms he hates. I think they're too restrictive. He has a thin pram-suit he's good with but it's not really warm enough. And he's nearly outgrown it. Now it's turning freezing cold he needs something warmer. I have a lovely thick soft suit but he screams hysterically when we try to put him in it. Any suggestions on how to keep fussy baby warm when we go out?

My DS is also not a fan. I tend to layer him up - long sleeved vest, long sleeved tshirt, jumper, maybe a cardigan then a thick, fleece lined jacket with a hood. He gets some fleecy blankets over his legs and wrapped around his feet before going inside the buggy foot muff. He's got a little hat and mittens too. I've found this easier than trying to bend a screaming, red faced, rigid baby into a snow suit.

We got a fleece star wrap after I read a review on here and it's been brilliant. It's not bulky or difficult to put on, it's just like a blanket with spaces for arms and legs! Keeps DD super toasty in the pram or in the sling. I got our from a website called tuppence and crumble but notonthehighstreet do them too. I also second lots of layers!

hi, my DS (7weeks) would scream too but as long as the suits are the right size they won't be restrictive so I would persevere. Let him get used to it. If it continues to be a struggle then just put him in wooly cardigans and jumpers. teamed with a hat and a blanket over his legs he will be plenty warm enough.

fleece lined jackets are lovely, tesco have a lovely navy one in at the minute. it feels lightweight but it fully lined with a hood which will keep DS toasty warm

Sometimes I don't put her arms in the sleeves as she likes to chew fingers or just play with them. I get a big size and just zip up over them no probs and shes fine. Looks odd but whatever keeps em happy!

Use a sling a bit more?

Also layers and a sheepskin liner for the pram? Can also use the rain cover to keep bitter winds off him.

Try a morrck. I swear by them, and they are cuter and easier to use than snowsuits.

I bought a Bug in a Rug from Amazon which has proper leg sections. Baby likes it a lot and it is VERY EASY to get him "inserted". With this extreme weather I've been using an extra blanket as well, which isn't a problem as baby is still in a carry cot. I bought the size up as I thought it'd be better to be roomy but would have been better off sticking with recommended size as he's a total Houdini at getting his hands out.

I think its the very padded thick suits that can be too stiff and restrictive fir babies. They look like they can't move. Have a look at the Jo Jo maman bebe polartec fleece all-in-ones as they are extremely warm without the bulky padding!

I think the Bug in a Rug is v easy to use too. And solves the problem of bulky snowsuits in the car seat as well as the restricted arm issue.
Its plenty warm too even for this weather, but there is an Extreme version which i imagine is warmer.
