Taunton or Bath RUH - Where would you deliver your third?

I need to choose whether to book into Bath RUH (30 mins from me) or Taunton (1 hour away) to deliver my third baby.

I am expecting to haemorhage, as I have with my previous two, so I need to get the choice right. The first delivery was in London and the second was in Taunton. I chose them because they seemed sensitive to my needs (I wanted to labour in water and they agreed not to put a line in until I was 10 cm dilated, etc.) and were generally very on the ball. I would love to go there again, but am concerned that I won't make the 1 hour journey. Not to mention, I will be in for 4-5 days, so it will be tiring for husband, family, etc. to keep doing the journey.

Does anyone have any experience of either? Are third births often quicker?

I look forward to any ideas/help. Thanks!

I think 3rd births are often quicker. My friend had her third baby a couple of hours after contractions started. She nearly gave birth in the hospital car park!

I had DS in the RUH. They were very supportive of my wishes. I originally wanted a water birth, but ended up being induced so I was unable to have one. I found them to be really good tbh.

I stayed in for 3 days afterwards, as I ended up having an ECS, but the midwives were all really good.

I live 2 mins walk from the Princess Anne Wing materninty unit, so I wouldn't have gone anywhere else really!

Also, will be going back to the RUH to have baby no 2 in September!

Also, if you are well enough to travel, you can choose to spend the rest of your stay in a local maternity hospital. Paulton is very nice apparently.

thanks for your comments, it's very reassuring. I think I'll go and visit them and try and settle my fears a bit.
