ADVICE NEEDED FOR FRESHSTART........................

Poor Freshstart has no pc at the mo. She's just MSN'd me from her mums and has asked me to post this:

Started training ds (2.7) 10 days ago by going cold turkey, no nappy at all during day for 10 days. After first 3 days he got great with wees
and now takes himself off to toilet but every single day since we started he poos himself twice (loose), even 2 minutes after sitting on the toilet. Just doesnt seem to get the poo bit.

Do i keep going or ditch it?

Keep going!

Annoying as it is, if she goes back now she'll regret it.

Keep going he'll get it eventually.

That's my thoughts. I think she's just a bit stressed with the mess, bless her. He does want to stay in pants as he was upset at the thought of going back in nappies as he said he's a big boy now!

I will try and get her to keep at it! :)

I've got all this to look forward to (not!) - starting with my ds tomorrow morning! (he knows all about it and says he's going to have big boy pants but from experience, I reckon that will change in the morning Grin)

Hi

managed to get on computer again - thanks for your comments (and thanks for posting for me helly!)

Well, we havent given up but the poo accidents are still happening.

Can anyone tell me a similar story about reluctant potty poo'ers who "got" it some time later? How long did you have to wait?

The wees are sorted - no bother at all.

He had 1 poo on potty yesterday so thats 2 in potty over 2 -3 week period.

Im sure its because they are so loose, he just has no sensation. Is there such a thing as a reverse laxative so that he can actually feel them iykwim?

No probs mate. Well done for sticking at it, sorry I have no advice. I'm on Day 2 with ds and he's done one tiny poo in potty, wees everywhere else Grin

Hope it gets better soon! :)

Both of my two were poo-ers in pants even after becoming dry. I just used to calmly say "That should go in the toilet" and let them see me slooshing the poo down the toilet (DS2 started to do this for himself after a while) and one day it just never happened again.

My little girl was the same - got wees very easily but for two or three months afterwards nearly always did poos in her pants, even, just as you describe, having an accident just a short time after doing a pee in her potty. I had another baby during this time so didn't want to force the issue, but we cracked it very easily in the end with a star chart.

Good luck x.
