I feel like its just my little one what does this but does anyone else's baby scream and get angry befor they go to sleep in the day? For some strange reason he can go to sleep on his own when he goes to bed but in the day he's a nightmare trying to get a sleep.

My DS used to do the same..would get over tired & upset with himself.
I found walks in his pram really helped..the fresh air was great for us both & 9 times out of 10 he would fall asleep & stay asleep for a really good nap.

Hi Newmummy12! I'm in the exact same boat. My DS2 (6.5m) sleeps well at night but is a nightmare during the day. ALWAYS cries for at least 5 mins before he goes to sleep and if I miss his sleep window he won't go to sleep at all in his hammock and I have to take him for a walk. Even worse in the last week even when he gets to sleep he wakes up after half an hour! Argh! I get absolutely nothing done.

On a positive note, his big brother was just the same and he got better with time and became great at his naps. Smile

Mine decided life was far too exciting to sleep and stopped napping completely at 6 months. She was never grouchy or did the 'overtired' thing so I just stopped trying to make her. Some children just don't need as much sleep.

In the end we just went out and very occasionally she would fall asleep in the sling or the pram for 20 minutes or so. The sling was wonderful as I actually got things done round the house - madam just screamed constantly if she wasn't being held. It was hell, but they do get better.

Mine's exactly the same, but going for a walk usually does the trick.

Yep, you are not alone (though it feels like it in RL!). There are many of us on here with babies that find it difficult/ refuse to nap. Sling or push chair & fresh air seem to help most. Not sure I believe it, but I have been told some babies need to cry in order to sleep. Baby massage recommends holding DC & letting them release stress crying. Good luck, hopefully they will grow out of it!

Yeah he always falls asleep in the car and in his buggy but soon as I arrive home he wakes straight up and soon as the car stops he wakes up. This week I have been letting him fall to sleep on his own with out me jiggling him around and he will stay asleep for an hour or over but if he falls asleep on me it will only be for 10-20 minutes. He will wake from a nap and once he's awake he will not go back so then he's miserable and cranky because he's still tired. Thank you all for your posts it's nice to know I am not alone haha :-)
