Absorbency? Resale value?

Orinoco · 04/04/2006 13:19

Do nappies have resale value?

Yes, although the mothercare ones will have virtually none, and the ME ones will have a v.good resale value. If you are interested in buying 2nd hand, try UKParents as there are always loads on there. :) They will also help with suggestions if you are looking for trainer pants, although I've heard the ME ones are quite good.

The mothercare ones hold next to nothing, and will be a bit scratchy. Designed for a child who may only have a rare accident during potty training IMO. The Motherease one is more of a nappy designed to hold a fair amount of liquid, I would think.

I agree on resale values. Buttons for the Mothercare ones, but you'd get a fair bit back on the Motherease.

I am Shock! I'd never have thought of buying (or selling) nappies! Thanks for opening my eyes!!

the only difference I can see is that the motherease ones are more absorbant, enough to hold an entire wee!

but they're much cheaper \link{http://www.kittykins.co.uk/cloth-nappies/type/13\here}

Orinoco - we got great ones for ds made by Imse Vimse (Swedish brand) called Bumpy training pants. THey will hold a sizeable wee, but the waterproof layer is inside the pants so they look and feel like ordinary pants, just a tiny bit thicker. Just don't tumble dry them or you'll destroy the waterproof bit (as we have found out to our costSad)

Green Baby sell them in white or safari print: \link{http://www.greenbaby.com\Green Baby}
Go to shopping then nappies then out of nappies and scroll down to bumpy training pants.

They'll sell on in the future too!

Orinoco, the ME ones are very absorbent and best for nightime as they are quite bulky. My ds1 who is 6 and dd who is 3 have just started using them. The Mothercare ones hold almost nothing, probably best kept fot training during the day.

I had some mothercare ones. Our lad refused to wear them. They are not pants! They are not nappies! No! Dont like! So dont buy a lot if you have a clever little so and so like ours.
