Hi We have a seven year old whom we have managed to shield from all the recent news about Jimmy Savile etc. But now that the whole subject of child abuse is so much in the news, we wondered about how other parents are talking (or not) to their kids about it. Our son knows about stranger-danger but we have never spelled out in any way to him that abuse exists or what it actually is. (And we are mindful that most abusers are not stranger to the children in question.) When I was young I think we were told about 'dirty old men', but is this or a modern variant -- enough? All thoughts gratefully received.
