im an going to start potty training my son who is 19 months as he is ready and knows when he is weeing and already knows to sit on the potty when he has no nappy on. i was wondering if to make a sticker chart for when he goes in his potty so he could get a thomas prezzie when he had so many (he is thomas mad) but i was worried he might be to young for stickers would he understand it
ps he is a very clever and advanced boy for his age

Stickers are a great reward for potty using, but IMO 19 months is pretty early both for potty training and for a sticker chart. Might be just as happy to get the sticker on his tshirt rather than a chart.

Worth a try if you really think he's ready, but maybe be prepared to quit after a few days if it's not happening.

Good luck!

yeah thanks. i will try it as he already does little wee's on his potty and brings me nappies and wipes when his nappy is wet or dirty so he can feel it. i want to make it a long process letting him take his time im not gonna force him if he aint ready and im willing to stop

My ds totally got over stickers in around 3 days - his potty training worked better with "oh, what a shame we can't go out until you've done a wee on the potty because there are no toilets at the park".

"Oh what a shame, I'd made some chocolate pudding, but it says on the packet only boy's who have done a wee can have some" Cue Dh running to the toilet as well.
