This morning at 8.15-8.30 DS2 (who's 2.4 months) had 2 organic wheat biscuits. After I'd dropped DS1 at school at 9am I decided to have some scrambled eggs on toast before I went to bed (was working last night). He got all excited and wanted some too - decided seeing as though I wanted to finish that loaf off I would make a little extra for him - didn't think he'd eat it - but he'd be happy.

He polished a slice of toast and scrambled egg - and then ate 1/2 banana afterwards too Shock! He's going to eat me out of house and home by the time he's a teenager at this rate!

He's two on Monday, btw.

DS does not eat everything I give him. Particularly not veg - he eats peas, carrots, and this week, marinated artichokes.

But he eats a lot of the things he likes, which is just about everything else.

He is quite tall & skinny.

I didn't think QoQ's kid ate that much, tbh.

"Question for those of you lucky enough to have a good eater."

Will they eat anything you give them? No, but no pudding if they don't eat virtually all of their tea. So they tend to eat up.

tbh, I guess DD could count as a "bad eater" because she rarely eats tea... but it never bothers me. She doesn't eat, so what? My kids have had low appetites age 3-4, btw, it just seems normal to me, they were pigs before (& after) that.

How big are they?? - quite small or almost average for age. All the fussy eaters I know IRL are quite big kids... obviously they can afford to skip a meal.

tipsy - so I take it your child eats something more frequently than hourly then??

He hasn't had his dinner yet (just going to shower DS1) but since I last posted an hour ago he's had an apple, some cheese and some sliced ham) - and he's shouting for his dinner so I guess I'd better go.

"More eats!"

DS1's favourite sentence... Grin

i have a great eater!

ds is 13 months and has had today (in chronological order):

one big bowl of porridge and a box of raisins
a slice of toast (mine!)
a banana
a big bowl of homemade veggie soup with a slice of bread
a yoghurt
another banana
another box of raisins
half a chocolate spread sandwich
a jacket potato with cheese
rice puddding
more raisins
another banana

plus 4 6oz bottles of milk!!!!!!!!

i think he may be going through a growth spurt? I hope so anyway, he has been sleeping quite a lot as well.

and for the questions:
yes he eats pretty much anything he is offered
he is tall (98th centile for height) but quite slim

starlover · 28/03/2006 22:46

do i win?
do i do i do i?

AllBuggiedOut · 28/03/2006 23:06

Glad to hear nobody else gets to eat their own breakfast! DS1's nickname is "Eight Breakfasts Adam" because that's how many he'll have given half a chance! Off for his 2 1/2 year check tomorrow so will officially learn if he is lardy Grin

I am speaking from inside DD2. She was so hungry after her 10 meals today....she ate me.

QueenBodicea · 28/03/2006 23:37

Like it Feistybird (grin)

Starlover - ds (16 months) is opretty close yesterday he ate:

Bfast
2 thick slices of French toast
pot of puree fruit
1 baby bel size piece of cheese

Snacks throughout the morning
100% Fruit bar
1/2 a buttered hotcross bun (would have had a second if I'd let him)
1/2 a large rice cake with avocado spread on

lunch
minced pork and vegetables (finished 2/3 of it) and new potatos (4 of them)

snack
1 large banana
2 no added sugar ginger biscuits
1/2 pear

tea
chicken and basil pasta (finished all of it)
1 pot of yoghurt with fruit mixed in

snack
1/2 a pear

He doesn't eat like this every day though he is generally pretty good. He is in the 9th percentile for weight - I never know where he puts it all !!

He won't eat anything he doesn't like though even if he is hungry. He just throws it away. Since he is a pretty good eater I just offer something else that that is simple (toast/avocado/yoghurt etc) and if he doesn't eat that then the meal is over. I don't do the 'you can't have dessert if you don't eat the main course' but that may be because generally he eats pretty well.
