We have used these since DS was 2 months..and found size '2' amazing..fewer leaks thn huggies..and didn't cause a rash like pampers.
however we bought 'size 3' on friday and I have a strang issue with them

on the back band just above his bum there is slightly sticky area..and after changing five nappies and having to prise it from where it had stuck to his skin i stopped using them and we bought huggies again

is this just a one off.. a dodgy pack? or has anyone else found the same?all the nappies have the same thing..a gummy area on the inside top at the back..very odd.

do you think i have grounds to complain to sainsburys H.O?

I'd take the pack back to sainsburys store. they have a no quibble money back thing. I never liked Sainsburys nappies - preferred tescos. Sainsburys always left little gritty bits on ds' bits!

kiskidee · 27/03/2006 11:59

expensive rubbish imho

babyonboard · 27/03/2006 12:06

not at all xpensive..but def. rubbish!

i just called and they are offering 2000 nectar points as apology
think i might try boots own...

aren't they not going to take back the unused nappies? I'd take them back and ask for my money. i don't know about boots' own. tesco's own is highly rated. I use Lidl's Cien brand - its cheaper than Asda's own and possibly, tesco's. I find it comparable to huggies just a touch bulkier - only noticeable when you stack up a bunch of each brand together.

babyonboard · 27/03/2006 12:30

hmm..they said not to bother..and the points they gave means £10 to spend in sainsburys, or £20 in adams so i'm pretty happy with that....

i'll give tesco a try..cheers

Sainsburys nappies are rubbish IMO.

I used them occaisionally and found that they leave those horrible little beads of gel on his bum. Normally a sign that the nappy is saturated (ie nighttime nappy) but it's happened when on for only afew hours too.

Rubbish.
Tescos are FAB but I'm using Lidl nappies atm and I'm shocked to dicover they are brilliant.
and at £5.29 for adouble pack I'm well chuffed.

babyonboard · 27/03/2006 15:00

just got a call back..
apparntly they have had loads of similar complaints and are recalling the packs, and also switching supplier.
they have offered me a further £20 sainsburys voucher, and say in two weeks the new ones will be instore
i'l probably go back to them then as I cn't fault their newborn and siz 1 ones

very pleased..i never expected a complaint to be taken seriously.

Just got back from Sainsbury's feeling a little puzzled. I was happy with their perform and protect nappies, used from birth on DGD, but I couldnt find them. They have changed their packaging and name "dry" of their own brand. Not tried them yet though. Anyone else?

peaches27 · 12/04/2006 22:42

For Sainsbury's "dry" read not very!

Going to try Asda, Tesco. Dont live near a Lidl but might give theirs a try. Oh and possibly Boots. I am boycotting Sainsburys as they now leak. I am not bothering to contact them to say their new product is rubbish. The reason for this is, I used to buy sainsbury's own make diet ginger beer, loved it. The repackaged it, changed supplier, and it started to taste absolutely vile. So I wrote to them. They were not at all apologetic but said they were happy with their new supplier and tasters had found it superior. So what is the point? I enjoy sainsbury's grub and its nearby, thats why we shop there, cos DP goes before work for me. But I wont be buying their nappies or ginger beer again.

So if you can recommend another own brand nappy that doesnt leak and is good value please tell me.

kiskidee · 13/04/2006 12:41

i have not tried the tesco nappies when the get proprely wet, the gel stuff gets stuck all over baby'es bum. Never have this problem with Lidl's and I use them as night nappies. Lidl's are also cheaper than Tesco's and Asda's.

HappyMumof2 · 19/04/2006 20:35

I think Sainsburys nappies are excellent. They are all I've ever used on dd, other than a first pack of Pampers which brought her out in nappy rash.

Never liked Huggies or pampers with ds as they used to fall apart and all the gel would come out of them.......

I really can't fault Sainsburys nappies at all - and their new ones are really good. They've changed the packaging and the design on the nappy (look just like pampers active fit now) but nappy still just as good.

Have also tried Boots own - they are ok but not as good as Sainsburys.

peaches27 · 21/04/2006 20:40

Lidl Cien brand nappies are excellent. Gone over to these (1 weeks now) and no leaks, no sore bots, very impressed. And also saved money!

beansprout · 21/04/2006 20:52

Size 5 Sainsbury's are now regularly leaking and ds is waking up soaking wet. Am using 2 nappies to get him through the night. Think I will try Tesco!!

aideesmum · 24/04/2006 11:03

Tried sainsburys own brand for the first time last week and ds woke up very wet so I don't recommend them at all, probably ok if you change them every hour but no more than that. Tesco ones are the best - in my opinion, as ds is always dry and comfortable.

peaches27 · 29/04/2006 17:42

As I posted earlier, Sainsbury's have changed supplier and they are now rubbish. Unfortunately my nearest supermarket is Sainsburys. Lidl is a few miles drive away and thats OK if you have to go that way but today we ran out of our Lidl nappies (which, by the way, have been great) and I have had to buy Superdrug which arent as cheap and looked a bit suspiciously baggy round the legs. We await the telltale leak ...

I cant wait for another trip Lidl way! We have been happy with their sensitive wipes too which work out cheaper.

bamboozleslover · 26/07/2006 19:12

so ... are superdrug nappies any good?
