Student grant- help WFTC advice

hi

I get a student grant on top of my loand, about £800 a term.

I phoned WFTC they said I had to declare it, someone said that was wrong so I phoned agian and they said no, doesn't need declaring.

Had an amendment to the form received just two days ago saying entitleed to extra as underpaid, they put DH's income up by £500 and included my grant even though I never told them about it (?)- only they got the amount wrong, have had £1700 so far (last payment will be received May so next tax year)

Help anybody? Should it be declared? Are they effing up? Can they count money not received this tax year? Can they take DH's usual income as the final amount istead of taking into account decuctions through sick of £500, which they have done?

Where are they getting figures from- not from us!

I've always been told that I don't have to declare my NHS bursary as it's not taxable income. Am sure it must be the same for the student loan.

Apart from that I can't really help, sorry - sounds like they're making a pig's ear of it though (quelle surprise, huh?)

THe only thing I can suggest is that you give them another ring and get them to go through the figures again, and tell you where they're getting their info from!
