Cut4Cloth trousers don't fit over Totsbots!!

Just received a pair of the hot pink cargo pants today and they don't even come close to getting over dd's Totsbots!

Dd is just 9 months and average weight and height. I ordered 6-12 mths because the catalogue continually states "no need to buy the next size up!" "generously made!" "will accomodate cloth bums" etc etc. Gap clothes are roomier Sad

I'm gutted cos it was the first pair of non-tracksuit bottoms I'd bought for her.

Anyone else found this? I have the cut4cloth drawstring trousers too and they're an absolutely perfect fit, so v disappointed in these.

Any other companies out there who sell big bummed clothes?

mcmudda · 21/03/2006 15:14

Spooky - I was just looking at them a couple of minutes ago - they're v cute! Have you got any?

I haven't personally but I know someone who has and she says they are fab. Fit nicely over unbleached nappies.
Have you thought about getting some wool longies to wear in the day? DD2 has a pair from babylonglegs and a pair from puddlepants, both lush, and a bit different too.

yG - have you been stalking my browsing today Grin - I just found them for the first time and they look fab! Do you use them like leggings or tights?

I use them like leggings mcmudda. DD2 loves the rainbow ones from puddlepants. The babylonglegs have plenty of growing room so atm she only wears those at night.

I like the footed leggings from JoJo (not sure if they're in the catalogue at the moment, I bought ds's over a year ago now).

Also find that Next dungarees are quite roomy.

It does get better. DS (nearly 2 now and in 18-24m sizing) wears Tots size 2 or 3, and most styles of clothes now fit.

DS has had lots of clothes from Tesco, H&M, George at Asda and GAP that have fitted his bum well :)

Thanks everyone. I got them from Beaming Baby who are going to refund me. I bought the "eco-Angel" top at the same time which is also on the small side but is so cute I'm not parting with it!

I can't seem to find any nice girly dungarees atm. Have resorted to sewing flowery patches on ds' old dungarees to girly-fy them! Incidentally Woolworths seems to be the most generous in the bum dept.

Will have another look at babylonglegs in the meantime. The new Green Baby catalogue looks very promising too with lots of stretch jersey stuff Smile

misdee · 22/03/2006 16:44

i have two puddlepants nappies and two wraps. they are gorgeous. it feel suchs ashame to cover them up. they hold a lot too lol.

bumbleweed · 23/03/2006 22:01

I recently got the lilac/pink striped boot-cut trousers from cut4cloth for dd - no problem in the bum department over her tots. But the length is just about right now and she is 5m (they are size 6-12!)

bumbleweed · 23/03/2006 22:05

Just looked at puddlepants website - I dont understand how wool nappy wraps work - dont they leak wee wee?

pootlepod · 23/03/2006 22:11

Not tried them but have heard good things about \link{http://trufflebuggy.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/index.jhtml\trufflebuggy's clothes}

Yorkiegirl · 23/03/2006 22:12

no bumbleweed. Wool breathes, keeps the moisture in without getting sweaty like PUL wraps. You lanolise the wool to make it waterproof, much easier than it sounds!

bumbleweed · 23/03/2006 22:24

but is the wool nice and soft? I would hate to wear wool pants as I find it quite an itchy material. not being argumentative - just quite surprised and bemused to find there are wool wraps!

picnikel · 23/03/2006 22:30

I've found cut4cloth sizes a bit erratic - the lilac/pink stripey trousers in 6-12 months were a neat fit - as soon as dd grew out of them I ordered the 12-18 month size and they are VAST, far too big for her. Nicely made & wash well, mind you.

vkone · 24/03/2006 11:08

Wool's brilliant, it's absorbant and when lanolised it reacts with wee to neutralise it so when the wrap has been aired it can be used again (sort of self cleaning). If you are curious to try it, look out for merino wool (it's softer) and 2nd hand is v good as it will be well lanolised
