Advice needed - Bumbo or Snug Seat

Hi, my 4 month old dd has become very fidgety on her playmat trying to do sit ups and also the same in her bouncy seat even though I have moved it into a more upright position.
We bough a Jumperoo but she is still quite little in it and can't bounce as feet do not touch the floor.
I wondered if one of these seats was a good option as I am tearing my hair out trying to keep up with the housework as she gets frustrated if left for more than 5 mins in chair or on playmat. I think she wants to be more upright??

I only had a bumbo so can't comment on the snug seat, but they are only really any good once your DD is nearly sitting unsupported as otherwise she will slump to one side. I found the best thing was simply sitting with DS on my lap, and getting some toys to hand (particularly singing teddies, he loved them) and just supporting him myself. I still used the bouncer/playmat when I needed to get jobs done.

Wasn't there a recall on the bumbo this year? Not ever had either so can't comment on them, sorry.

Does she like tummy time much?

Does she just want to have you in sight at all times maybe?

I put a box under the jumperoo until DS was tall enough to touch the floor. I had a bumbo but hardly used it - DS hated not being able to move around. The tray is also useless, DS just pulled it straight off all the time.

I also read something about a bumbo recall - I think children have been injured throwing themselves backwards out of them so they are looking at the design. My advice would also be to forget the housework (or get a cleaner)

The bumbos are now issued with a safety harness. 5 month old DS will spend a maximum of 5 to 10 mins in his, not overly keen! On a slightly different note, we have just started weaning & it's really handy to pop in the car and take round to people's houses to sit him in if we want to feed him.
We used to put a next directory under the jumperoo!

I have the bebepod which has waist straps, and straps for a chair so is very handy and baby fits better than in a bumbo.

I have a booster chair with a clip on tray and a reclining back rest that is suitable from 3months but can't find it online - it's a few years old.

I have the snug seat - it will last you longer than a bumbo as you can take the baby insert out and use it for a toddler. Also I think it looks nicer. I put a highchair toy that rubber suckers onto the tray and that will amuse him for ten minutes or so. But really, the housework can wait!

We had a bumbo for ds, which he liked and I have since passed around a few friends (and their babies also liked it) However, ds had massively chubby legs so only used it for about a month. Incidentally, friend returned out last week and a now two year old ds jumped into it... His legs fit it better now than they did at 4months!!

DS hated the bumbo he doesn't like being closed in. Do you know anyone with one so you can try before you buy? or ask in the shop too try it?

DS was a long lean baby and didn't fit the bumbo well. I always felt the back support was too low and his legs were not snugly in place to help hold him in.
He was happy enough in it though, although soon managed to escape by leaning to the side.

I used a bumbo and found it a useful place to put dd while I made a quick meal or fed the dog, I never left her in it for long or was away from her while she was in it.

For housework I used a sling.

We had a bumbo but as DS3 had birdlike skinny slim legs he was able to get out of it - we didn't use it much TBH as he couldn't be left in it as he would lean to one side and lift himself out of it.

Ds loves his snug seat. He's been able to use it from about 4 months because of the soft insert. We're now using it for weaning. At 6 1/2 months he's quite small and struggles to reach the tray in his highchair so family meals are currently eaten as picnics :)

We have a bumbo, my ds is 4 months, but is a chunky little thing and when I pick him up to get him out the seat stays attached to his bum! He can barely squeeze into it. To be honest he doesn't seem to like it much and tried to pull himself out, so that's a bit scary if babies can hurt themselves doing that!

I also have a jumperoo, his feet touch the floor now, but before they did we just out a pillow under them and held it for him whilst he jumped around. He loves the jumperoo though! :)

my 3 month old DD2 loves the bumbo (started using it this week) my DD1 used it loads too. she never tried to move/tip in it but she was very slow to get the hang of moving in any way so I shall watch DD2 like a hawk when she gets more wiggly but I still thik it is a brilliant bit of kit when they want to sit up and can't
