How can I stop DD screaming?

DD1 is 4 years old and often shouts as she talks. I hold up my hand to tell her to be quiet and in a soft tone tell her to speak properly and lower her voice. This usually works for 2 minutes and then she'll start again and repeat the process.

Lately when she's frustrated she'll give a high pitched shriek. I've repeated the above steps, explained to her why nobody likes screaming, sent her on the naughty step and it still happens daily.

It's got to the point where once every two days I just end up shouting "STOP BLOODY SCREECHING!" which doesn't help.

Any advice? It could be with anything from having to share a toy to the dog being in her way or her dad singing her a song. Anything that she doesn't like is just met with a screech and a "No, STOP IT!"

...Oh.While in the Red Cross,I came upon a few tots with a similar problem. It
Seems that Some of them could not Bear to be Touched...and Some of them
Could not Bear very much Talking around them; especially when there were too
many different People around them.Singing would set them off, also. This is a
Very common Reaction among "Autistic" children.I have an autistic grandchild.
Just taking her to a "New" place will set her off.Music makes her Scream.Oh,I
Feel so Helpless at times. While in South America,I was a member of the"Canal
Zone Council of Foster Parents". I cared for so many autistic babies and children.Broke my heart. My Best to you.Jill.

My DN is like this she's always loud i don't know why but some adults seem to have loud voices. She's getting better since starting school. No advice but your not alone i must say quiet voice a million times a day!

DS1 was like this until the age of around 5. Still is at times. I usually remind him to use his 'indoor voice' or explain that it hurts my ears.
