yellowing teeth

Ds (2.9) has always had lovely white teeth. Recently I've noticed they have started to go a bit yellow, particularly the canines, and I wondered why that might be. He doesn't eat many sweet things, doesn't have much juice and has his teeth brushed/brushes his teeth twice a day (although not always very thoroughly - you know what toddlers are like!).

Only thing is, he has taken against milk and although he has cereal and perhaps a glass of milk (with fruit in it) for tea, he probably doesn't have a pint or whatever is recommended.

Do you think it is lack of calcium which might be causing the yellowing of teeth? I'm assuming it is not because of lack of proper brushing since the brushing is as good or bad as it has ever been (although I suppose it might be a cumulative build-up if we are not brushing properly).

Anyway, hope this makes sense and grateful for any thoughts. We're not due to see the dentist for 7 months.

Am bumbing for chicagomum, my experience a tad limited here. But adult canine teeth are usually a couple of shades darker than the other teeth, I don't know why, maybe chicagomum is around to help with that. It may be that baby teeth are the same too.

I would brush his teeth, paying as much attention to those teeth as possible & see if they come up any better. As the are in an awkward place, sometimes the brush doesn't contact very well with the tooth, so you may be missing them slightly.

Hi Cranberryheights
Not sure about the yellowing but I think the main thing to worry about is if they start looking glassy/translucent - that's a sign of enamel erosion.

Bump. Anyone else had this?
