Would like to know what others did with new born as i am thinking of using formula milk instead of breast feeding. I know they say its beter for the baby but looking back to last time was just hell simply because i was so shattarted (only managed 3 wks with ds) Would i have to take a tub of formula milk to the hospital with me? and bottles? lol i have no clue so as much info would be a great help!

Think i will give bf a go. At least i can try and like you say i might find it ok. I just wont take it to heart so much if i fail again because that was hard! Sad felt terrible i could not handle it.

Dunnyjo - Not being anxious about it might make all the difference - I think you are brave to try, and right to and stop yourself seeing it as 'failure'.
Perhaps talk it over with your mw and tell her the pressure and upset you felt last time - but let her know you want support, not pressure. They are v different things! I wanted to breastfeed, and (lucky for me) found it ok - but there was so much pressure without support in hospital that it made me v angry, and if I had have been having difficulties at that time when you feel really vulnerable, I would have stopped!

When is your baby due?

Please dunny, don't feel bad about 'failing'.
Like Blu says, make your feelings clear and demand help!
MN is fantastic about this.

If you give it a go,you're already on a good footing!!!

just be aware if you do want to bottlefeed that some hospitals won't provide ANYTHING! My local hospital takes this line (and then was hopeless about b/f support).
