Recommendations for multi-brand trial kits please?

I'm thinking of changing to reusables, but after reading all the advice on this board would like to try a few different brands.

I've seen a few trial kits but they all seem to be one brand only - does anyone know where I can get a few different ones?

I'm absolutely lost and just bought a brand new trial pack of 3 different Tots Bots models on Ebay only to find out they were size 0 and therefore useless to me Confused

Your local Council may be running a scheme to encourage more babies into re-usable nappies. It is worth having a look on their website, even if they specify newborns, there may be other company contacts details too.

I just kept checking Ebay and rather than going for trial packs, just bid on individual nappies of different types. Don't worry about getting brand new, just give them a good wash when they arrive and they will be fine.

Also click on the re-usable nappies review button at the top of the page, or use advanced search within this topic.

Are you close to Oxfordshire? I do trials with different brands - Tots Bots, Pop'n'Gro, Bumgenius, Lollipop, Onelife, Bambino Mio (??!!), etc etc

www.twinkleontheweb.co.uk/acatalog/Nappy_BagKits_Nappy_Trial_Kit.html

They do different trial kits. Always had very good service from them too.

Thanks all, I agree the best way is to try and get separate ones on ebay.

NappyShedSal unfortunately I'm in Scotland and there are very few similar services here (and only a couple of council initiatives too)!

Where in Scotland are you? I'm on Edinburgh and there's a trial scheme here.

PoppyAmex · 15/09/2012 08:23

Yes, WicketKeeper I saw that Edinburgh/Lothians is one of the few but I'm in a small village in the Forth Valley and sadly our council only provides some info pamphlets on real nappies.

I did find a nappy library in Linlithgow so might try that too.

www.boocoo.co.uk do a brilliant trial offer which I found really useful (or at lest, they did a couple of years ago when I was in this position - I can't immediately see info about it on their website today, but try contacting them)

Also search to see if you have local mum type FB groups and things as they can be a good way of chatting to people and local enthusiasts will often lend you nappies to try. EG we have a local mum's group, local LLL bf group, local sling library and a few people are setting up a nappy lending library!

A few websites offer multivendor trials. Try Funky Monkey Pants

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 15/09/2012 14:21

Sorry, should have been multibrand!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 15/09/2012 14:22

And agree try The Nappy Lady. If you use her free advice service you get a 5% discount on all purchases over the next 18 months or so.

PoppyAmex · 17/09/2012 14:38

Brilliant, thanks for all the suggestions!

Have ordered a few and started trial, which raised a million questions (about to start a new thread begging for enlightenment) Blush

Fill Your Pants also do a trial, 6 or 7 different different nappies for £10 which I found really helpful. Good luck! Once you've started using cloth you'll love it!
