Any clever ideas to solve these problems?

My 9.5 month old son is a very curious and active boy. Not too long ago I purchased a Bjorn bouncer for him to sit in. It has a nice security strap to keep him in it. However, he is now figuring how to escape from that and I know it won't be long before he succeeds.

The same thing is happening with his bath seat. I got him one of those Jane bath seats. He is now able to pull his feet together and stand up on the seat.

Both presents dangers and a headache.

I now do not know how to keep him safe and secure it the bath while trying to give him a bath and also do not know how to keep him safe and secure while he is sitting.

Any ideas? What have you done or would you do?

DD is a master of escaping

Just get a bath mat for the bath and let him sit unaided on the floor

I had the Bjorne bouncer chair but tbh DS outgrew it about 10 months old. Suspect your DS may be a bit old for it. If yu need to keep him in one place for short periods may be better thinking of a playpen.
DS went into the big bath unaided as soon as he could sit reasonably, so about 7 months. Just got a decent bathmats and lots of toys. You could always bath with him if you're worried?
At 9.5 months I suspect he's just naturally exploring and your days are about to get rather more complicated, but much more fun!

My DD was/is a master of getting into and out of things that she shouldn't. By 9mths the only thing that held her was the big highchair with a 5 point harness.

For everything else I just let her be. I have a bath with her, and on the odd nights I didn't I never used a bath chair or anything, as soon as she outgrew the baby bath I just lay her in the big bath in very shallow water and supported her head.

I baby proofed everything I could, and just let her have free rein on the floor, and carted her around the house with me. Every room had a little basket of toys, so if I needed the loo she just got plonked on the floor and would play, same if I was cooking, I sat her on a rug away from the cooker and just kept putting her back over there.

Is he steady when sitting? If not, plant cushions around him at head hitting point if he were to fall. I did that with DD and that worked.

Just wait untill he is on his feet Wink.

Thanks for the ideas. Will definitely get a bath mat.

He sits well on his own and is now standing unaided (so I guess the first steps are not far). I am groaning as I write this because I anticipate exhausting days ahead. I miss being able to put him down and know he will be exactly where I left him. Smile

I have a playpen for him but he hates it. I understand why. I would hate it too. It's not a lot of space and looks like a cage/prison.
