So this morning, DD1 woke crying at 5:20am, (Never does this) I think teeth? she's had three new ones in the last month (molars). anyway. she didnt go back to sleep, which then woke DD2 up. and i'm tired from feeding DD2 3 times last night.... so = snappy mummy.

How do you not snap at your toddlers when you are feeling tired. I feel so F**ing bad, she is just on the go 100% energy wanting to paint at 6am, getting everything out. she's tired from waking early i know she is, but shes just being very full on this morning, or maybe im just noticing it more where im feeling like a zombie.

she's been back to her lovely self the past few days but i can see today being a bit of a nightmare.........

I dont want to keep snapping, and repeating and shouting

how do you do it?????

I only have one and I have to remind myself not to be a grumpy git when she has had a bad night. One bad days I have to work a little at being happy, smiley mummy and I tend to employ the 'fake it till I make it' method. Singing helps because it calms dd down. Then nap when she naps!

Cbeebies; Lots of outside running around stuff, garden, park, paddling pool - stuff the toddler can do that isn't going to annoy you, get in your way etc. Anyone you can palm the toddler off too for a few hours? Failing all that, it won't be the end of the world if you have a day off from boundaries, discipline, naughty step etc - just ease up for today, let them have the biscuit so long as they say please and get through it one hour at a time x And if you do end up snapping, just say sorry, mummy's tired, big hugs and carry on. they'll forgive you Smile

Thanks. I've given her lots of things to do (and done together) glue and sticking on an old box, water and bubbles outside, sandpit, cbeebies, drawing etc so we've actually had a nice day. Will just have an early night I think. She's not napped yet, so might not today. (22m) usually has 1.5 or 2 hours. But some days no nap.... Just keeping her busy!!

I have a full on 6 year old and 2 year old and boy do I know tiredness, too. Sometimes find myself lying on the sofa with one eye open (lol, but true) keeping an eye on them, I am so exhausted. Don't have any solution, I'm afraid, just know you're not alone! I'm sure we'll all look back and laugh (in about ten years!), hopefully. Meantime, caffeine, gin, biscuits... x Wink
