DS is nine months old and so far have still no teeth the last couple of days he has been very grumpy, waking in night, red cheeks etc

I think teething has finally started and although he has a Sophie the giraffe (squeaky dog toy) and various other soothers he just wants to eat the tv remote (though this has been the case for months). He eats teething gel and powders I don't think they get anywhere near his gums and did get on ok with bickiepegs earlier but does anyone have any other tips?

Thanks

I tried all the gels and powders found the only thing that really worked was calpol. Was reluctant to use it at 1st but it really help especially for at night when he could not sleep.

A dose of baby nurofen before bed was the only thing that let my little girl get some sleep. I didnt give her anything during the day except for powders/gels/teething rings that had been in the fridge. The worst part of teething is listening to them let out little sobs in their sleep! Not fun, but once the tooth errupts it tends to get better quickly.

My little boy had 5 teeth in one month so I've tried lots of things :o these are my line of defence against teething in order of weakest first:

Cold carrot to chew on - straight out of the fridge!
Nelsons teething powder
Bongela gel
Calpol

The best thing in the daytime is to try to distract them as much as possible, but it is exhausting!

Ahh just realised you're the op Figgy! Hope LO gets sorted ASAP! Agree with the poster above, once the tooth cuts through it does seem to ease the pain very fast! X

Nurofen, teething gel, booby, cuddles. Repeated til age 2. Smile

Seriously, nothing beats nurofen for swollen sore gums.

My DS currently has 4 teeth on there way and 2 of those are top back teeth. He got one of his bottom teeth the other week and was completely fine but this lot are causing havoc! Diarrhoea, temperature as well as all the crying! It's horrible! Previously Calpol and Teetha powder were the mix that worked for us... Currently it just seems to take the edge off it but at least he can get some sleep! Don't think there is a magic remedy - just have to hope the teeth come thru quickly!

Tommee Tippee do a teether that is a bit like a dummy. You can rub gel on it. That might get some on his gums.
