Baby Toy That Pulls Faces?

Is there such a thing? My baby is going through the copying of facial expressions now.

The obvious answer is going to be 'spend more time with your baby and pull the faces yourself' and you're right, but I do this already and I love to see her response :D

However, during moments when Mommy needs to get started on dinner, do the vacuuming or wash and sterilize baby bottles, it would be cool if I could get some kind of mobile toy that cycles facial expressions and I wondered if any of you guys knew of something like this?

If not, should I take it to the Dragon's Den? haha!

I know that there is a book that has different facial expressions on simple faces, in 'chunky' black and white designs. It's in the 'baby shapes' set which comes with a mobile. The mobile doesn't have faces but has different shapes/patterns again, in black and white.
I got it from amazon.

Realise that's not exactly what you're looking for, but it might be something to use in the interim?

It's an idea, definitely. I'm surprised I haven't seen anything like that myself, I would have thought the most obvious things that delight a baby would have been huge sellers.

I think the book you might be talking about is 'Baby Boo'. DD has it. Chunky board book with black and white photos and some brightly coloured/patterned pages on facing page. Also got a mirror on the last page.

DD is 10mo now and we're using it to teach eyes/nose/mouth etc.

Failing that you should be able to find faces in magazines etc and cut them out. Sure, most of them will be air-brushed supermodels but you might find some large funny faces. I started months ago cutting out things from magazines and stuck them in a scrap book. It's mow our talk about book. Got some wicked pics of men with long curly mustaches, babies crying, old people, children with face masks on etc (as well as pics with cars, houses, apples, spoons, tigers, horses, babies etc etc). The Sunday papers are great for all of that kind of thing. Even managed to get a token pic of George Clooney in...he had a 'beard' like Daddy!!!

That's a fantastic idea! I need to do a book like that with big pictures of my family in it as she has never met them (she will in two weeks!) and I don't want her to be confused.

I wonder what age this would be useful at, as all she does with anything right now is stick it in her mouth.

DD is 10mo now and still puts everything in her mouth!! She started pointing about 2mo ago and we really started looking at this book about then.
She loves it. Pointing and clapping. I see it as something we can keep looking at over the next 2-3 years or so. Playing 'find me the...' or 'how many cars are there on this page?' etc. Just tailor make it to suit their age.
Besides I love making it. Cutting out, gluing and sticking... Such a big kid!!'
