Head lice

Found several head lice - big moving ones in DDs head on tuesday, then checked the rest of us, found 1 or 2 in DH and DS and a few in mine. Hedrin applied to all our heads wednesday night, found several dead lice on DDs pillow thursday nothing on ours though, washed it all off, combed through with conditoner and nitty comb and found a few more on DD.Today have combed through again with conditoner and nitty comb, found lots of brown dots on DD.

So what are they? They are nothing like the moving things I found earlier in the week, so are baby lice? Eggs? or what??

Not sure, but for going forward buy the Nitty Gritty comb for £10 in boots and use with conditioner regularly, they're great and will leave kids nit free in future, regular nit combs don't work 100%
Hope someone else can help!

The eggs are white and stick to the hair shaft - what people call nits. Not sure what the brown dots could be but as long as there are no live lice you should be OK.

The brown bits are unhatched lice eggs, the white ones (nits) are the empty cases left after the baby lice have hatched.

I 2nd the nitty gritty comb its defo worth the money I was sceptical at 1st but it sorted my hair out in about 2 combings as it gets the lice and the eggs most combs only get the lice hence you have to comb through for about 2 weeks to make sure you get all the lice as they hatch. Much better than using all the chemical stuff. This post is now making my head itch!

Keep on with thick conditioner and nitty gritty comb over next few nights, it should get it all out. Section off hair with clips to make it easier.
