I would like to have a stall at a natural parenting fair after Christmas.

I am trying to come up with ideas for a gift/starter set that I could put together and wondered what people thought to the contents and price.

The idea would be that it is like a cloth-bum mama alternative hospital bag - kind of -

Containing
3 cloth pocket nappies
6 washable inserts
A roll of flushable liners
6 organic cotton breast pads
3 large washable mama pads
3 extra large washable mama pads
8 washable baby wipes
Presented in a coordinating wet-bag

I would need to be selling it for somewhere in the £65 region but the cost of individual items would be over £80.

Do you think this is too expensive or the contents are unsuitable? Or would you have liked other things in there?

Thanks for your thoughts x

I think using anything washable in hospital is daft personally. Meconium, copious blood and clots, valuable items that are potentially gonna get lost or thrown away in error, nowhere to wash them or store them safely, you would need two wet bags at least as would not want to mix blood with baby stuff. I do not think the amounts would be enough either. I think the last thing anew mum would want is the pressure of washable nappies pads and wipes in hospital, or at least first few weeks.

The flushable liners clash with the ethos of the other products. I would suggest washable liners.

Choice of nappies are very personal.

I doubt there are many mums who cloth bum themselves and baby and use washable wipes. Separate intro packs perhaps, but not all three.

Very expensive, and I think very few would buy it. Selling individually would be the way to go, with perhaps.ittle selection packs, one of each brand of each of the types available

Thanks for taking the time to give me your thoughts.

Hospital bag was probably not a great comparison to make, I agree few would be likely to use everything especially as much of the first care is sorted out by partners parents or staff.

I agree perhaps I would be better with smaller sets of either mama or baby products.

Baby shower gift? With an assortment of nappies , wipes, liners etc, nappy cake type but not just boring Terries?

I really think a selection pack of the mummy cloth would be good, as there are many types of pads and available in bigger numbers or including postage. You could buy in bulk and split? Perhaps if mums saw the jam sponges, moon cups etc, they might be more inclined to buy, but maybe offer a discrete order form in case they do not want to be seem buying such things, sheewee as well?

I made a cloth nappy cake last night. I really wanted to post a picture on here but I can't work out how.
I've listed one on ebay as a tester if you have time to look please give me your opinions.

I think that looks really pretty Smile and good that you offer to tailor it to customers requirements. You have not given much detail about the nappy itself, but I am guessing it is a pocket one? Might be best including brand. I wish you all the best!c
