Bike seats for babies: Weeride vs Bobike

Am not sure if this is the right place for this, but I'm looking for a front bike seat to carry my 13 month old DS. It's only for short journeys (5-10 mins) to take him to the childminder and back.

I'm looking at the Weeride and Bobike. I was originally keen on the Weeride, but looking into it a bit more I'm worried about knee clearance (both DP and me are quite tall, 5' 11").

Does anyone have any experience of either of these bike seats?

Am I right in thinking that one seat can be switched between two bikes (as long as you have the right fitting)?

Thanks in advance X

DH is 6'1 and found the Weeride ok, he did have to angle his knees out a bit but not so much that riding was impossible. We went to an indpendent bike shop to find the baby seat and they strongly (and logically, although I can't remember all the reasoning!) recommended the Weeride.

There's a cycling topic I think where you may find this question has been asked before - I think quite recently.

I use a rear seat.
I was keen on a front-mounted one initially, but changed my mind after loads of peoplepointing out that most minor accidents involve the cyclist thrown forward - e.g if you have to break suddenly, or hit a pot-hole or something daft like that then generally you'd be trhown forward, not usually a problem but wouldn't be as safe for a child sat in front of you.

I found the Weeride good in terms of balance and bike stability, and liked having DD between my arms (especially when she went to sleep on the way home from nursery) but it was a flipping pain to ride with. I found that my knees had to be right out, Farmer-George stylee and consequently only the very edges of my toes were on the pedals. Really hard work, and I'm very glad that both DCs are now big enough to use a rear seat.

I used a rear seat for both my DS's at that age. However, now my DS is 3 (almost 4), we use a front mounted Leco Top Tube seat for short journeys as it's really small, and doesn't cause the Farmer-George problems ZuleikaD mentions above. It also allows his elder brother to be on a tag-along behind. They do need to be older for the Leco though, so possibly one for the future.
Both Weeride and Bobikes get good reviews for younger children, as does the Yepp Mini.

The Weeride mounting is supposed to be quite difficult to fit initially, but the seat is then easy to remove and fit onto another bike, if you buy multiple mountings.
