Can anyone recommend a holiday destination?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I'm hoping if someone could help me. My dd will be turning 2 next summer and we are looking to book a holiday. However, we are having some issues. I do not want to go on a resort holiday abroad, firstly because I really do not want to have to fly with a two year old. She has a screaming fit if she has to stay in her car seat for too long, I cant imagine trying to keep hold of her on a plane. Secondly, I would spend the whole time worried about her in the sun, and would probably spend my whole holiday walking around with her trying to entertain her whilst hubby read his kindle by the pool. I have been lucky enough to have gone on several resort holidays before we had dd and I just think that she may get the best out of that type of holiday when she is older. However, hubby doesnt want to stay in this country because 'it is a similar price to abroad and you cant rely on the weather'. I was wondering if anyone had any tried and tested holiday destinations that they would recommend for a family with a little toddler? I am up for travelling via Eurostar to places like France etc, but also if you know of any amazing place in Britain that is fantastic for kids Id love to hear from you! Thanks xx

North Nolfolk is lovely.

Bedruthan Steps in Cornwall is fabulous, but quite expensive. Can also recommend North Norfolk or the Lakes.

I've never flown with kids but most of my friends have and they all say its not as bad as you might expect!

Ribby Hall (outside Blackpool) is really good.

I've just got back from Campsite in the Gower - a few mins walk to the beach, great play park for kids, nice hot showers, very friendly, camping pitches or has caravans to rent out. We really enjoyed it.

Earlier in the year we went to Cornwall. We stayed in a cottage just off The Camel Trail, which was great for flat cycle rides (with DS in a seat behind his dad) and easy access to pretty villages and a nice beach.

Given the choice though, I would always, always choose to go to the Lakes but I'm about to move there as I love it so much so am clearly biased

I'll second north Norfolk. Hunstanton, Thornham etc. Fields of lavender and gorgeaous beaches, it almost feels like the south of France.

Less reliable for weather, but loads to do with small children, is the Northumbrian coast. Bambrough, Seahouses, Alnwick. Amazing beaches, castles, boat trips, wild life, etc.

Brittany is lovely too.

Prob with Norfolk is that most of the lovely beaches are a long walk from the car parks, not great with a two year old. We love bedruthan incorwall.
Again in Brittany you have to drive, we've stayed in a lovely gite complex called Brittany thatched cottages.
