Easyjet and travel systems

Sorry for boring question but I couldn't find a thread on this when I searched..

Easyjet allow a car seat and pram for free when travelling with an infant. I have a silver cross surf and it is comprised of the chassis and the other bit.. Whassitcalled.

Has anyone travelled on EJ with a travel system and car seat? Do they allow the lot on?

I've been on hold to their help line for ages so I gave up as DD wanted a feed..

Thank you.

AH, no problem, I finally got through.
In case anyone else has the same question regarding Easyjet, the following is current guidelines:

easyjet.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4033

If you are travelling with an infant or young child you can take up to 2 of the following items free of charge:

  • Travel Cot
  • Pushchair
  • Double pushchairs
  • Buggy
  • Car seat
  • Collapsible or non-collapsible pram
  • Baby back carrier.

The items must be tagged at the check-in or bag drop desk and they can be carried to the aircraft door or steps where one of our crew will store them safely for you. They can be collected from the baggage carousel on arrival. If you have checked in online and you are carrying hand baggage only, the items can be tagged at the boarding gate (except the travel cot).

Alternatively the two items can be checked-in as hold baggage at no additional charge. Please note that each of the above items cannot weigh more than 32kgs.

Booster seats can be taken as or within hand baggage provided they fit within the standard hand baggage measurements (measuring a maximum 56 x 45 x 25cm). They will not be accepted free of charge if taken apart from hand baggage. Please note they cannot be used as a car seat, but you can use them onboard when the seatbelt sign is off. Booster seats can also be taken as hold baggage subject to our standard hold baggage rules and charges.

Thanks for that. Flying with EJ in 2 weeks with 12 month DD so, good to know! Enjoy your trip.

Thanks Sage-- you too.

They told me that travel systems in two parts are classed as one item. So that's good to hear. I didn't want to just have the car seat as she likes napping in her cosy pram.

Bon voyage

That's better than BA then! I have a carrycot attached to the stroller at the moment, which doesn't collapse, and they have said this can't be included as part of the "fully collapsible stroller", so it has to be checked into the hold as a bag. Grrrr!

vallinnapod · 02/08/2012 15:37

Really Tea?? I took my Uppababy Vista on BA when I had the carrycot attached - it flattens down and could go in the travel bag with the frame. Can you do that? I also took DS's car seat (checked at gate).

TeaandHobnobs · 02/08/2012 15:42

Ah vallinnapod mine doesn't flatten, it is rigid Sad

I think I'll just fill it with nappies and package it up Smile

vallinnapod · 02/08/2012 17:53

Arses! Good plan re: packing it! Careful though, nappies weigh a bloody ton, don't want them to sting you with excess baggage!
