Also, midweek or weekends did you find better?

I'm planning on taking my 3 and 5yo this holiday, I've only popped in before briefly as dps friend worked there and it looked like my 5yos idea of heaven. Our nephew loved it when he was 4, his 6yo sister didn't, think its down to if its your dcs type of thing.

I used to be able to see it from my bedroom window, now its 100miles away but a good trip for when visiting the ils.

Oh and for driving in that area, its always busy but weekdays non peak times would be best, abbey parks just up the road which is lovely too, and has a small pets corner bit aswell

No, not for children this young unless they can concentrate. IIRC, it's open plan so you're likely to spend the whole day trying to stop them from running around.

They're both into rockets and planets so I think they will definately find it interesting.

Luckily, neither are 'runners' so the open space should be manageable too.

Thanks, StateofConfusion, about the pets corner park nearby, that's really useful to know actually :)

Yes absolutely. We went last year when DS1 was 3 and he loved it. There's lots of stuff that kids that age can look at and do, plus interesting stuff to read and learn for older kids/grown ups that you'd just skip at that age.

BloooCowWonders · 29/07/2012 14:52

Prob no. Dd 3 hated the 3D cinema and the rest of the place was wasted on her. Older ones liked it but I spent all my time in the cafe with her.

happybubblebrain · 29/07/2012 14:53

We've been a few times. My dd found it most intersting now she's 5, but there was still plenty for her to do when she was 3. There are plenty of interactive things to do

I recommend that you ask to gift aid your entrance fee and then you get an annual pass so you can go back any time. If you do this, it is very good value for money.

I loved the 3D cinema but dd was less keen.

Have fun.

I have only been at weekends. It was quite busy, but not too bad.

marquesas · 29/07/2012 15:10

Hmm, I went when visiting friends who live in that area and I would think it might be better to wait until your children are a bit older.

It was a few years ago so it might have changed since then.

We went with a 2 and a 4 yr old and had a good time. Obviously don't expect to see everything at that age, ours found some favourite bits where they spent a lot of time, but other bits they weren't interested in so we didn't get to look at those much. One or two bits were slightly scary (dark with loud noises) but fairly easy to avoid. All the kids love the rocket that "takes off" in the cafe, you must go there! It is expensive for a one-off though.

sashh · 30/07/2012 06:04

Go, loads of kids when I went.

Oh and do you have a pregnant friend or are pregnant yourself? There is a heat sensor camera, it shows where the hot bits of your body are. There was a pregnant woman while we were there and you could clearly see the heat given off the bump.

OK I admit it, I'ma geek.

StateofConfusion · 30/07/2012 10:13

Ooh sash ill be about 23/24wks when we go

StateofConfusion · 30/07/2012 10:18

There is also gorse hill city farm 5 mins away which is abou £1 for kids £2 for adults 50p for food and a good hour or so entertainment

StrangerintheNight · 01/08/2012 16:28

We went on a Saturday with my 3 yr old DS and it wasn't too busy. I found it really dark and disorientating (which I suppose space would be) but DS loved it and had a great afternoon there. Ticket prices eye watering for adults, but was free for DS so maybe you should just send them in there to look round on their own : )
