I think she may be ready for potty training ... but I am not!

Help! This is new to me .... DS wasn't in any way interested in the toilet until he was almost 3 and we said, "Let's put you in big boys pants today!" and he said, "OK" and that was it ... not one accident at all! I had tried at 2 and a half but gave up on day 4 because he didn't have a clue.

Anyway ... DD (was 2 last month) regularly says, "My toilet mummy" or "My wee wee Mummy" and insists on sitting on the toilet. I have not once suggested it to her. She hasn't actually ever done a wee or a poo in the toilet or potty but sits on it at least 5 times a day. Sometime with her clothes on and sometimes she insists on taking her nappy off.

I put her in pull ups today because I found myself getting fed up with the whole palaver of getting her undressed, nappy off, on the loo for 2 seconds (with another 10 seconds of playing with loo paper), lying her down again and getting the nappy back on and then her trousers ....

So ... what do we do? Just carry on like this or take the plunge and 'try' potty training (bearing in mind she hasn't actually ever done a wee or a poo in the toilet yet)

Can she get the pull up up and down herself?

I was adamant that I wasn't trying it with Bob unless he could do his own undressing and redressing. Last night he got up - did a poo in his potty and changed his own pull up (even though first one was clean) and took the old one to the laundry room.

Hi Bobbybob .... how's it going? Clever Bob doing that!
No, she can't pull the pull up up or down ... today was the first time I put one on her ... she thought it was a swimming nappy and had a wobbly because she wanted her 'simmin togs' on Grin .... but I just felt it was easier as we can now just pull it down and she can do her pretend toileting then I can pull it up again without the faff of the nappy. Mind you, pull ups are more expensive than nappies aren't they?

It all just feels a bit bizarre because she is so young compared to DS to be toilet trained and I have always been a fan of 'later' training rather than earlier. AND I thought that children under 3 who potty trained themselves was a myth but it seems she may be on that route.
