Presents suitable for a 3yo and a 1yo to SHARE

My DCs have birthdays that are days from each other. They will get a gazillion presents (large families) which I'm a bit anti to be honest and I've been trying to get families to cut down but I know they won't. SO, I therefore want to get something for them from me & DH which is specifically designed for them to share. Possibly two things, so they both have something for them to unwrap, but I am very very keen that they learn that presents aren't always things that they then have unrivalled access to (some of you won't agree - sorry!).

Please does anyone have any tips / suggestions? We don't have space for a kitchen etc that sort of thing. I've thought about doll's house but would have to put it in one of their bedrooms which would sort of negate the point.

They are DD and DS btw.

This one! (Not red any more though...)

5madthings - how easily does the rocket thing fold down? I LOVE the idea of that but it would have to go in the living room or a bedroom so would have to fold down some of the time at least. Do you think frequent folding down/popping up would ruin it quickly? Is it this one?

Thanks BertieBotts - think older DC would love that - is very into crocodiles at the mo!!

it wasnt that one but is almost identical, tbh i havent folded it down as it was a pita to put together, but you dont have to take it apart to fold it you can sort of squash it flat and then put it behind the sofa, only take up a few inches ie 2inches behind the sofa, sticks out the top tho! we got ours at xmas and despite it being used by all 5 of my children, it is lasting suprisingly well! too well according to dp who is sick of it in the living rm! i am impressed at how sturdy it is tbh :)

re the sea saw we have the red one, its littlye tykes and it does get used but not that much, just sits in teh garden. the water/sand table gets much more use.

and yes to play kitchen ,w ehave a wooden one and it fits in the space under the stairs, which would be a wasted space otherwise, my youngest three who are 7, 4 and 19mths all play with it and you can get lots of lvoely accesories, we have wooden food that is great (bought for ds1 11 yrs ago and still giong strong!) so thats a def good buy, well worth the money :)

We have a teletubbies one and some from early learning centre. like this I know they say from 2 years but I have no idea why.

These ones on amazon are more like the elc ones used to be like

My dcs are now 14 and 16 (2 years and 5 days apart) but they were playing with the tents from babies until they were over 10. It was one of our best value toys.
