DS (5) hates brushing his teeth. Any tips?

its expensive (£120) but what worked for us was buying the elecric toothbrush that comes with a little clock. As you brush a face appears and as you move around the mouth the dial around the face moves (all wireless technology). It beeps if you press too hard or not enough time in one area. It is alos a normal clock with a light and has a 2 minute timer that they can see time disappearing. It also comes with different heads. Today went to dentist and the dentist said it was like another child's mouth everything was so clean!!

Oh wow! That sounds amazing! I'm sure DS would love something like that.

Oral-B Professional Care triumph toothbrush 5000 smart guide

It is this one. It is in Boots for £200 but it is cheaper on Amazon. We bought it in Boots when they disocunted it (hence thinking it was £120). My DH and I also have one now as it really, really is good. You put a normal head on for everyday brushing, a separate flossing one (this got loads near the gum line) and then there is a sensitive one which we use for DD. Pains me to say but she had three fillings and we thought enough is enough. We also use the tooth disclosing tablets once a week now and I do her clean for that one - she does not mind as she likes to hunt for the blue monsters (paque shows up blue) and let me scrub them out. Dentist was really pleased and as fillings were in first teeth we have got a second chance to get it right now!

Electric tooth brush with timer - the oral B ones hav a little 'flick' every 30 seconds.

I bought a friend's child a musical toothbrush, to get the music you have to brush properly, it works on bon conduction so only the child can hear it.

I bought the same child some disclosing tablets - bright blue teeth.
