I'm currently PG with DC2 and already have a 6 year old boy who will be 7 by the time baby is here and we live in a 2 bedroom HA, house.

the baby will be in our room then would be going into my sons room which is quote large anyway.

Has anyone else done this or would you think this to late to start sharing a room possibly with a girl?

I think if thats where the baby needs to sleep then thats what will happen as your the parent.

Have you talked to your son he might really pwant to share his room with the baby? Try to piont out the posatives to him and tell him how much fun it will be. Give him lots of time to get use to the idea.

Good luck and congrats on new bab

I think the main issue would be the baby waking the older child up due to night feeds to be honest.

We have a 9 year old dd and a 4 week old ds. I wouldn't have made them share... I think I would have turned the living room into our bedroom with a sofa bed and given the kids the bedrooms ...

Dd can often hear ds in the night as it is - and he's in with us at the moment ! I guess if you're lucky enough to have a baby that sleeps through quite early then it might be okay :)

Our ds1 was almost 6 when ds2 was born. Ds2 slept in with us until the week of his first birthday, so ds1 was almost 7 when they started sharing. They love it, fortunately. The room is pretty diddy and they're in bunks. It can't go on forever, but for the time being at least it's grand.
