Non-pink pants

DD needs new pants, and when I asked her what colour she'd like she said orange, green, red and blue. It seems to be incredibly difficult to find girls' pants that aren't pink - so far I've drawn a blank (admittedly my hunting has been sporadic). Does anyone know a retailer that sells coloured girls' pants, and if not, does it actually make any difference if she has boys' pants? (assuming they don't have a front flap.)

Have you tried primark or somewhere similar? Im not sure of the quality but they always seem to have a massive range.

Buy a pack of white and some dylon (£2.50 from Wilkinsons) that's what I do!

Good thought, Pepita! Just out of interest, is there any difference between girls' and boys' pants? I mean they're obviously different shapes, but is that actually necessary? DD's bum looks much like a boy's to me!

Marks and spencer - we got yellow, purple and turquoise. They're stripes and spots - quite funky

M and s- the Charlie and Lola ones we bought were all red and cream.

Boys pants have a picture on the front, girls have a bow! At least in our house! Boys pants always seem a bit sturdier and have thicker flatter elastic than girls.

Just had a look at the M&S website (our local one is rubbish, as was Mothercare) and some of those do look very funky. Cheers everyone. Might go for the boys' ones in any case as they seem to be better 'built'!

When I was little I used to wear boys' pants.. I think they were just a bit more roomy at the front, no other difference though. I remember finding them more comfortable (was very fussy with clothes when I was little - still am actually :o).

H&M do some nice bright green ones that DD likes a lot

SoupDragon · 12/07/2012 13:22

I agree that boys pants are roomier at the front. Not by much when they're small, but the cut is different.
