Why can't babies be born with the fuckers... two years of pain just seems excessive.

Agreed!

Yogurtmonster · 30/06/2012 20:55

Tell me about it. Poor DS getting his back molars at the moment and is in so much pain :-(

wanderingalbatross · 30/06/2012 21:02

I have often told DH that it's a serious design flaw and must have led to many many cave babies being eaten by tigers.

Am currently in bed cuddling DD who is cutting her first molars and is struggling to sleep :(

We're on first molars too - 9&10 both half through, the poor thing just keeps whacking the side of her head and poking her ear, must be so so painful :-(

Yes or why can't they just come through in one hideous 48 period and get it over with. Would save loads of dribble, sleepless nights and pain!!

poachedeggs · 01/07/2012 06:00

DD appears to be trying to erupt her last 8 teeth all at once Hmm and I am FED UP so I really hear you!

poachedeggs · 01/07/2012 06:01

In fact, having been up since 4.30am, she's just woken her brother up. So that's me up for the fucking day. Again.

MumbleMumm · 01/07/2012 07:06

Oh PoachedEggs - that sucks! I'm starting to think I might just stop at 1... especially as she is such a light sleeper (when she does actually sleep that is).

Actually I reckon she probably could sleep if it wasn't for these fucking teeth. crosses fingers, and bangs head against wall like a crazy lady

No, have another one. Then occasionally they'll play together nicely for 3 seconds at a time. But do ensure you have enough rooms/a large cupboard so that they don't have to share and therefore wake each other up constantly.

mummymellymoo · 01/07/2012 21:03

And just when you think you're out of the woods they return to wreak more havoc. I have just spent the past month dealing with a 'teething' grumpy and precious six-year-old waiting for her front two teeth to drop out. It isn't much fun second time round either.

FaceCrack · 01/07/2012 21:06

Can I join you. Dd getting her incisors. Top 2 through but bottom ones are a bastard. Today she has had her fingers in her ears, slapped herself ran the face and constantly chewing everything. She's also bitten me several times in anger/frustration. I'm dreading the night ahead with a busy day at work tomorrow.

BlackOutTheSun · 01/07/2012 21:17

Teething is evil, dd is cutting her last four molars thank fuck

I know I'm going to get flamed, but has anyone tried a dab of whiskey on a cotton bud? It seems to have worked for dd after spend a fortune on pain relief, gels, powders, teethers.

MumbleMumm · 02/07/2012 09:59

Lol - no not tried that Blackout! But I am pretty willing to try anything! GrinGrin

My dd fell over and cut her gum today.... that's gonna help. :-((

Glad this thread was started.

Tell me please - how bad can it be when it's just teething (just?! ha!)...
my 20month DD has swollen gums (looks awful like gum disease), has diarrohea once a day and is generally not herself (ie wants to sleep). Been like this since Thursday.

Calpol and bonjela seem to ease the worst of the pain but i'm now thinking this is more than teething.... any thoughts? I'm going to see pharmacist later but just wondered what else it could be.

MumbleMumm · 02/07/2012 16:57

Oh Barmix that sounds rough. My dd's teeth tend to hurt her more when she is a bit under the weather - but equally she has had it so bad that teething has caused most of the above (apart from sleepiness).

The molars are definitely causing her more pain than the front ones... and her gums do look terribly swollen.

Not sure any of that info helps you much though - doctors always good to put your mind at rest.

Teething really sucks. Angry

Sounds like teething to me dd is fine when her teeth cut thru its the swelling she finds painful
