Hi there,

Baby is 7.5 months crawling, pulling herself up and on the verge of walking, she needs a lot of stimulation in the day o everyday we do at least one class/activity and at home we play with toys and read etc.

She has a huge oft foam playmat, lots of cuddly toys, stacking rings, shape sorter, musical set with shakers, drum, tambourine etc, crawling activity balls, flash cards, what other toys ould you recommend I get her to keep her entertained tht are educational as well?

Thanks

I believe a grand piano is recommended if you want Oxbridge... Upright if you're happy with a red-brick....

Looks at 6.5mo immobile dd.....

Your dc seems to have plenty to smarten him up. Door bouncer? Not educatoonal but very very fun!

Also, my dds teo fabourite toys at the moment are a wooden spatula and a peg off the washing line.

her sorry

Cogito that's a bit of an uncalled for spiteful comment, she enjoyed doing loads because she's an active baby. Get backin your box.

Gnocci she has a doorway bouncer but like the wooden spoon idea, she loves bag going on things....maybe a wooden spoon and some upturned pots and pans :-)

Oh, and fill an empty water bottle with dried pasta or rice grains, makes a great rattle.

We also filled a few balloons and chucked them around while dd was lying on the floor and she loved it.

Some of my friends swear by their jumperoo. Personally I hate toys that take up loads of room.

Alabama100 · 25/06/2012 17:09

Great idea ladies thank you! Really like the water bottle one with dried pasta. Thank you.

Ceeveebee that's the reason I never bought a jumperoo our living room is too small.

My dd is just the same as yours! Cruising at 7mths - came from no where! All she wants to do is stand up and cruise from object to object so I set the room up that way and she can do almost whole circuits! I think the most educational thing you do at this age is get them out and about meeting new people and seeing new things and talking to them. We are out most days doing something even if it's just a walk in the pram - you nearly always see something new or meet people she can interact with.

Thank you secret.

treasure basket? full of everyday (but safe) items for her to feel and mouth? we did this with dd1 who liked it, but no chance for dd2...early mobility a bit of a curse IMHO - my dd2 is 6.5 and can move around the room by rolling, and I fear that she will be on the move before too long (dd2 didn't crawl until 11 months!)

both of mine adored their jumper - great for when you need to cook the dinner/answer the door etc but does take up acres of space. However, she will be out of it by Christmas

jumperoo obv!
