When's the earliest you would take a new baby outdoor swimming?

It is blazing hot here (America) and my baby is coming in 6 days (yay!). Im addicted to swimming and really want to take him with me, but do worry about germs, etc since he will be small.

So I'd like sone opinions on when you'd take a newborn to an outdoor public swimming pool? Of course I would keep him in the shade, wouldn't go if extremely hot, etc.

Once all jabs done so after 4/5 months.

With regard to germs, babies can go outdoors from birth.

If you are taking him into the pool then it is recommended that they have their first course of vaccinations first.

Although looking at the latest NHS advice it seems to be okay even before their first jabs.

I don't know what the advice is in America.

I took DS from about 8 weeks, indoors though. Not sure that makes a difference. He had his first jab I think by then.

To go swimming indoors you don't have to wait for any jabs in the UK. It's outdated advice that you need to wait.

I can't see why it would be different outdoors, obviously if it's really hoyt you have to think about that...other than that go for it!

Re: germs, I plan on taking him outdoors from birth. But I know public swimming pools carry more bacteria than general places.
