Hiya.. My 8 week old baby (twin 1) takes ages to bring his wind up, I'm finding he is suffering from trapped wind, which is causing him bellyache and to "fart" an awfull lot, also brings legs up to belly and genrally uncomfterble.. (Twin 2) has reflux but burps fine.. Could twin 1 have reflux and does infacol help with bringing up wind ? Or may it irritate more... Any comments appreciated!

I found the best thing was gripe water - the original style (tried the boots version and didn't think very much of it). With infacol you need to give it before a feed which you can easily forget when desperately trying to placate a screaming baby with food. But gripe water can be given during or after a feed so even if you forget you can still give it to them.

Best of luck with it all! X

I swear by dentinox colic drops DS is lactose intolerant and had always suffered terrible wind to the point of screaming for hours nothing worked but dentinox however my sister used gripe water and worked for my niece.

Gripe water is hard to come by these days.

Bless you, sounds like you have your hands full! Infacol works to merge all the gas bubbles into one big bubble so that baby can release it easier, I think Dentinox works in a similar way so yes, it does help with wind but not with reflux. You can also try gently bringing baby's knees up to his chest to help clear the wind or move his legs gently in a cycling motion. Reflux is best treated with infant gaviscon after a certain age but best to see your GP first
