Childrens toy kitchen

I'm wanting to buy my DD a toy kitchen as a present from the new baby who is due in 4 weeks.
She'll be 3 in september and I think she'll love it (and hopefully spend hours and hours entertaining herself with it Grin )
There seem to be so many online with such a wide price range I wondered if anyone had any recommendations?
I'm not looking to spend a small fortune, but equally don't want something that will fall apart or is so tiny that she won't really play with it. Any ideas? Thanks.

I love the IKEA one here

but that's purely based on aesthetics rather than knowing anything about durability etc.
In my experience, they are FAB pressies - we have a yukky plastic one that is a handmedown and my nearly 2 year old and 4 year old love it as do the 2 and 3 year old little boy next door.

have you tried eBay? There are usually some lovely ones in good clean condition local to you at least that's where I got my one which has now done 3 years sterling service

The ikea one is great and v sturdy. We have had so much fun with it. Get some plates, cups, spoons, pots and pans etc too. She should love it!

We have an elc one, which was about 50quid. Think they still are. Bought for DS and now DD, 4, plays with it. Have a look on their website.

Ds has a chad valley one, was cheap but it's great. Can also be easily collapsed if needed to be stored away.

We've got the Ikea one and it is lovely, but DD much prefers her friends which is more colourful and has knobs to turn. The Ikea one is too tasteful!

We had the ELC one for Ds1 when he was 2.5. He loved it, in fact I have only just binned it as it had both doors missing etc

Having said that it was played with till it died, Ds1 is 9 now, and Ds2 is 6. One of the best things we ever bought.

We have the idea one too and my little boy loves it! Plus it doesn't look too bad - we have enough plastic tat already!!

We have the Ikea one. Got it just after DD's 1st birthday and she plays with it every day now (age 2y 3months) as do all her friends. Also great for storing things in it! It does have adjustable legs on it so you can make it bigger as kids get older.
