Pretty much as the title says.
How old was your pfb when they were moved into their cot/bed in their own room (without you sleeping.on the floor/spare bed in there)

A rather controversial 8 weeks Blush

She had almost grown out of her moses basket, and the cot wouldn't fit in our room. She was also so incredibly noisy that we weren't managing any sleep sharing a room, despite the fact that she was actually sleeping very well! So we moved her in the middle of the night - did the 3am feed and just left her in her room. There's no room in her room for a bed for us, so we've been separate ever since. And we've all slept better since the move.

However, at 8w she was still snuffly and snorey and I could hear her just breathing in her own room regularly (yes, I do know that's not the reason why they should be in your room). Now she breathes very quietly so I don't hear a thing. So, if exhaustion hadn't pushed us to move her when we did, I think we'd struggle to move her over now she is a more normal 5mo.

6 months. We went on holiday for two weeks and thought when we got back our twins would go straight into their own room without noticing the change too much. They did, no problem. More of an issue for me, than for them!

About 8 weeks as well. Like Lexiesgirl, I had a noisy one that quickly outgrew the basket, slept relatively well but kept me awake all night. We all functioned better for being next door to each other.

20 months Blush pfb indeed.

6 months. We'd just moved house so as soon as we finished decorating her room, she moved in there.

PsecondB however, is still in our room at over 9 months & I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. Partly because she's probably our last, and partly because she still wakes every hour...

7 months, and really under peer pressure from well meaning relatives. But he adjusted fine and sleeps great.

ButtonBoo · 13/06/2012 09:11

Another noisy little grunted here! We moved DD when she was about 8 wks too. Did keep our bedroom doors open for a week or so but the distance meant I could actually get back to sleep between bf's. Just had to deal with dp's snoring then!!!

6mo

9 and 10 months - when they'd started sleeping through the night. No way was I going to another room for feeds.

addictediam · 13/06/2012 09:20

Pfb was 16 weeks as I would settle her in our room go downstairs with the baby monitor on, then when we went to bed we were waking her just by moving around.

Psb is 18 weeks and I'm quite reluctant to move her out. But thinking about it as I think she would sleep better without us chatting.

LadyWidmerpool · 13/06/2012 09:24

Six months, after a holiday. We thought it would only get harder the longer we left it and wanted to do it before I went back to work. We all sleep better though I miss her.

TheHouseOnTheCorner · 13/06/2012 09:25

6 months. I wasn't that happy about it but she was loud.

PrimaBallerina · 13/06/2012 09:26

10 weeks. He didn't sleep well in a Moses basket but loved his big cot. I was planning on 6 months but it didn't turn out that way. He was fully monitored and I felt ok about it.

susitwoshoes · 13/06/2012 09:33

6 months. Up until about 5 months I felt very sad about her moving out but at 6 months I was well pleased to have her in her own room! Did naps in there for a month or so first.

20wkbaby · 13/06/2012 09:34

6 months both times. DD2 is 8 months old and still wakes about 4 times a night - only twice for a feed though. Nice to find a kindred spirit in vvviola, I thought we were the only ones whose baby wasn't sleeping through at this age. DD1 didn't till she was 13 months though so we still have a way to go.

lola88 · 13/06/2012 19:13

10 weeks he is noisy i am a light sleeper so he would wake me then i would wake him all night every night, he stayed at my mums one night and she left him in the room alone he sleep better than every so the next night he went in his cot in his own room.

We all sleep great and i bring him in at 6 for an hours snuggle after his bottle and DP has got up for work.
