at the moment i am putting baby down for nap every 2 hrs ish. This was working really well and my daughter would go down quite easily for these naps however over thr past few days it is taking muxh longer to settle her for these naps - i try to look for the cues that she is sleepy but am wondering if she could go longer than 2 ish hrs awake durng the day.

How long can your 15 week old stay awakw during the day? Also do they self settle or do you put them down awake? How long do the sleep during th day?

Thanks

My daughter is also 15 weeks and can only manage 1.5 - 2 hours between naps before becoming overtired. So long as I don't miss her sleepy cues she will fall asleep on her own when put down awake but I'm finding it increasingly harder to spot the cues in time so sometimes I have to give her a little milk to help her to sleep or push her in her pram. Generally during the day she has a 3 hour nap in the morning 1.5-2 hours after waking. Then in the afternoon, 1.5-2 hours after waking from her morning nap, sometimes she'll have another 3 hour nap, other times she'll have two 45 minute naps. General bedtime is between 7 & 8pm. It doesn't always work out this well though, especially if we go out as she finds it extremely difficult to sleep when we're on the move.

I read somewhere (probably on mumsnet!) that around 3 months old babies stop "automatically" going to sleep after every/everyother feed and get into a different napping schedule.

For my dd (now 7 months) that meant needing 2 hours in the morning after a feed and a further hour sometimes in the late afternoon.

Looking for cues and persevering with settling her if she gets over tired sound sensible.

Sorry, looking back at this post there's bugger all advice...
