We have been using the tots bots easyfits for dd which I love to bits. Up until now we have used them fine through the night but over the past week she has started sleeping much longer and weeing lots more and is now waking up at about 2am most upset about her very soggy bum. We tried putting in a booster last night which held of the wake up until 3am but didn't really do the job.

The thing is I am pretty sure she would sleep through if it wasn't for the soggy nappy, she has always been a cracking sleeper and makes it very clear she is not happy at all about being woken up at this time so I would really like to find something that would be a bit more absorbant for the night time.

So please, oh wise and wonderful mumsnet nappy users tell me what you use for a nighttime nappy so that I might have a happy sleeping baby at 2am!

drybees nightime well stuffed was always our holy grail drybees nightime at nappyzone, my sil is getting away with miosolos with a mio boost overnight - i have nappy envy at her!

ellas house hemp nappies are ideal

also bamboo nappies such as tots bamboozle, or the newer bamboozle stretch or a lollipop bamboo or littlelamb bamboo nappy with a MOTHEREASE AIRFLOW wrap. (the wrap is as important as the nappy)

you can also get a bamboo booster if necessary and boost if necessary

you can boost IN the nappy and between the nappy and the wrap

I never cracke dit and have ended up always using disposables at night. Even an ella's house hemp with 2x hemp and 2x terry boosters was sodden (as was the bed) and poor DD was lying with her legs right up in the air as the nappy was so bulky she couldn't get them down

That said she does wee for britain and before we potty trained a bumgenius with 2x big boosters and a hemp would only last 3hrs so I suspect she's a lost cause when it comes to overnight reusables

lolajane2009 · 05/06/2012 21:48

tots bots bamboozle stretch and a flexiwrap is used in this house

nickelbarapasaurus · 06/06/2012 13:34

we use little lambs organic cotton (plus booster/s) with Nature babies gusset wraps.

the boosters we use are massive that we got with some pocket nappies, but they were ebay and unbranded.

nickelbarapasaurus · 06/06/2012 13:36

these are the wraps we use

I spent a lot of time researching and glad I did because totsbots Stretchies + Motherease Airflow combined with p'tit dessous has proven to be extremely reliable. My two DS(DS2 16 months and DS1 nearly 4) normally soak their size 6 pampers stay dry nappies at night, or any other nappies that we've tried. So pretty great combination. Although bulky it's not too bad. we've tried Motherease Uno combined with any cheap boosters(x2), and that is the only other combination that lasted 12 hours overnight, but we tend to save our lovely (and pricey) Motherease Uno for day time use.

mumoftwolilboys · 07/06/2012 21:58

Ps. when I say soak their disposable nappies - quite often they are so full that they leak and look like their near bursting. I can remember with DS1 at 18 months the size 6 disposable burst and all the crystal thingies came out. (what are they called...?) So even though have only been using cloth for 3 months or so, have been rather impressed so far.

Fitted nappy - monkey snuggle, Itti bitti boo & stretch bamboozle boosted with a microfiber cloth are what we use - with a wool knitted soaker lanolised over the top. Simply PERFECT Wink

Tots bots bamboozles with a bamboo internal booster, fleece liner and Motherease wrap. DS has never leaked overnight and has gone a good 12 hrs.

Hi, I have a 3 1/2 yr old who is dry during the day but hasn't cracked staying dry at night yet. We used washables before she was potty trained but have had to resort to disposables for nighttime use which I hate as goes against our beliefs....Are there any washables that will fit a 3 1/2 year old???? She has grown out of all her bambino mios and Motherease and the lamb ones and am struggling to find anyone who makes bigger reusable nappies. Some mornings she's dry so she's not a particularly big wetter but sometimes has accidents at night or durung her afternoon nap (depending on how much she's drunk and I don't like to restrict fluids). Hope someone can suggests some brands. Thanks in advance.

nannyl · 20/06/2012 09:42

motherease toddler ease go pretty big

also tots bots do a size 3

or motherease bed wetters go up to age about 6 i think

also minki do XL which are massive, and im sure would fit a 4 or maybe even a 5 year old

have a google for thoseSmile

Monica1972 · 20/06/2012 10:39

18 year old bog standered flat nappies with a small boaster for night time use in this house they are so absorbant due to age and repeated child use that i could probally wee in them and not wake up lol

monica, my 4 yeard old (tall and thin) fits the little lamb bamboo size 3 and RealEasy(Large), realeasy also do XL so should fit most 3 year olds. He also fits the totsbots stretchies but he's not been allowed them after one wear as he makes nappies stink compared to DS1 and I really want the expensive totsbots stretchies to be DS1's nappy.

I am looking for bigger ones too as DS1 is showing no signs of being dry at night(or day for that matter! :( ) so thanks for the suggestions nannyl.

CatWithKittens · 22/06/2012 09:54

With 2 DC still in night nappies at 6.5 and 5.1 respectively and two older ones who did not come out of them until 6.6 and 4.8, I can say that we have rarely had wet beds or leakage using Terries - two from about 24 to 27 months - and plastic pants. As they've got older we have had some 67 and 75cm square night time or toddler nappies and have boosted those with an ordinary 60cm square one. Although they're often soaking in the morning, I should think we have not had more than twenty or thirty leaks over the years in all and that has been when either I (or DH?) have failed to tuck the nappy in under the pants or perhaps a child has stuck a hand into the nappy at some time before going to sleep - I'd rather not wonder why. I know this is an old fashioned recommendation but, believe me, it works and I shall be doing the same with DC5 (DS3) when he gets older - unless by some miracle he bucks the family tendency to rather late night time control.
